Songs That Make Me Laugh

Ok. I admit it! I love all kinds of music - from classical to country! But one of my favorite kinds of music is crazy, funny, off-the-wall songs!

Sometimes I get one of these nutsy tunes running through my head and I seem to sing it all day long!

Whatever makes you smile, right? I hope this site provides you a giggle or two -- and maybe some memories, too!

Have fun!

Update December 29, 2008 - I was so thrilled to see that this lens had won the 2008 Giant Squid Award for Music Category! Thank you all for your votes, comments and support. How exciting!

Pink Toothbrush

Max Bygraves - You're a Pink Toothbrush

What can I say? Lyrics: You're a pink toothbrush, I'm a blue toothbrush Have we met somewhere before? You're a pink toothbrush and I think toothbrush That we met by the bathroom door. Glad to meet toothbrush, such a sweet toothbrush How you thrill me through and through Dont be hard toothbrush on a soft toothbrush 'Cause I cant help loving you. Every time I hear you whistle...... it makes my nylon bristle....... You're a pink toothbrush, I'm a blue toothbrush Won't you marry me in haste? I'll be true toothbrush, just to you toothbrush When we both use the same toothpaste.

Lyrics - Does Your Chewing Gum Lose Its Flavor

Oh-me, oh-my, oh-you
Whatever shall I do
Hallelujah, the question is peculiar
I'd give a lot of dough
If only I could know
The answer to my question
Is it yes or is it no

Does your chewing gum lose its flavour
On the bedpost overnight
If your mother says don't chew it
Do you swallow it in spite
Can you catch it on your tonsils
Can you heave it left and right
Does your chewing gum lose its flavour
On the bedpost overnight

Here comes a blushing bride
The groom is by her side
Up to the altar
Just as steady as Gibraltar
Why, the groom has got the ring
And it's such a pretty thing
But as he slips it on her finger
The choir begins to sing

Does your chewing gum lose its flavour
On the bedpost overnight
If your mother says don't chew it
Do you swallow it in spite
Can you catch it on your tonsils
Can you heave it left and right
Does your chewing gum lose its flavour
On the bedpost overnight

Now the nation rise is one
To send their only son
Up to the White House
Yes, the nation's only White House
To voice their discontent
Unto the Pres-I-dent
They pawn the burning question
What has swept this continent

(Lonnie speaks)
If tin whistles are made of tin
What do they make fog horns out of
Boom, boom

Does your chewing gum lose its flavour
On the bedpost overnight
If your mother says don't chew it
Do you swallow it in spite
Can you catch it on your tonsils
Can you heave it left and right
Does your chewing gum lose its flavour
On the bedpost overnight

On the bedpost overnight

Hello there, I love you and the one who holds you tight

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Thursday, Friday, Sat'day night

On the bedpost overnight

A dollar is a dollar and a dime is a dime

He's singin' out the chorus
But he hasn't got the time

On the bedpost overnight, yeah

Just love funny songs. My grandfather used to have dozens of them and would love to sing many of them - though a few weren't suitable for delicate ears! One title I like is for the song: 'If I said you had a beautiful body would you hold it against me.' Super lens.

I laugh every single time I play it for myself. I'm trying to persuade my band-mate Bob to do this song with me. I'm laughing just now. "this here feller, this punchineller, begins to beller..."

Nicely done, Joan! Congrats on your accomplishments. I must admit that my comedic tastes are a bit more "hard-core" with the likes of Bob Saget, Adam Sandler, The Darkness, Bloodhound Gang, Tenacious D, and Sam Kinison, among others... but I do get the humor of your selections (I would personally label most of them "cute" rather than funny - but different strokes, right?) Congrats again, Joan. 5 more stars comin' your way!

Joan, What a hoot! I have always loved Ray Stevens and Roger Miller songs and both men are and were very talented at making me laugh... which is a good thing! Also both were talented songwriters and serious musicians and as an interesting footnote, both had a successful link to Kris Kristofferson in that genre: Roger Miller made the original recording of, Me and Bobby McGee in 1969 and it reached #12 on the C&W charts and Ray Stevens recorded the original version of, Sunday Morning Coming Down... also in 1969 and it became his first hit reaching #55 in C&W and #81 on the pop top 100! Mucho Congratulations on being selected as a Giant 100 Squid and your magnificent lensography. 5***** and favored.

I'm not sure, maybe Ray Stevens?

I remember when my wife and I were singing this song on a trip when our daughter was about 12 or so. She kept saying, "That's not a real song!"

When she got to her Granny's house, she ran in and said, "Granny, you won't believe what Mama and John have been singing!"

She sang a few words and her Granny joined in.

She just stood there with her mouth open staring at all of us like we were crazy!

You have a great selection of fun songs, here!

Oh my gosh... do some of these songs bring back memories. I forgot that Johnny Cash sang"A boy Named Sue. I was in high school at the time and everyone was raving about Cash.
