Titanic Trivia you didn't know!

Titanic was one of 3 liners built named the Olympic class and was the 2nd of the type built the first being the class named Olympic.

Work had barely begun on the third and largest of the Olympic class liners initially named Gigantic liners when construction was halted to await the outcome of the inquiry into the loss of the Titanic.

When work resumed, numerous changes (including a name change from Gigantic to Britannic) were incorporated into the final plans. The Britannic was launched feb 1914 and turned in to a hospital ship during the first world war and was sunk in the Aegean sea. She is the largest liner on the ocean floor to this day.

The Olympic, the first of the class was the luckiest of the 3 and was eventually decommisisoned and scrapped at Inverkeithing in Scotland. So now you know ;-)

How to add a quiz to your website or blog

Simple and easy and more complex quiz software scripts

Putting a quiz on your website especially one related to your subject is a great traffic magnet, both for new fresh traffic and, if you do a real good one and keep it up to date with fresh questions is a great way to get people back to your site. Over and above just sticking a few questions and answers on your site in a new section you can really go to town if you like and the skills and time required to do so aren't that tricky either.

You could set one up that has scores and scoreboards and add a competitive angle to it. That could just be for the fun of competing for your visitors .- or maybe you could put up a prize for the weekly or daily best score.

If your site subject lends itself to it the prize could simply be an ebook and therefore cost you effectively nothing. Or you could do say Amazon vouchers or anything else relevant - as long as the cost is covered of course - so for example only make it accessible to people who join your email list or do some other action you ask like go through a co-reg offer path or whatever.

So how to go about getting a quiz going in the first place. There are several options open from low tech and very easy upwards.

Low tech and easy - Quiz questions and answers - Simple Content Approach

1) Get a load of relevant questions and answers together.

2) Use them as content to create a new page.

3) Or how about have them on one page of your site and for answers require people to join your email list or do some other desired action.

4) Or maybe "hide" the answers around your site to make them search your site to find the answers - a good way to keep people on site and up the likelihood they'll do things that make you money.

5) Or, a variation on the hidden answers approach create non indexed non site map landing pages with the answers on and then stick the questions out as blog posts, on Squidoo lenses, Facebook.
Myspace with links pointing to your site for them to get or go find the answers.

Quizes to play online -
Moving on from simple content quiz based approaches there are plenty of great ways to get a real interactive quiz on your site or for use as a web 2.0 type of traffic "agent" on other sites.

Web 2.0 style quiz "Traffic Agents" -
http://quiz.myyearbook.com where you can build quizzes for Myspace and publish them for the Myspace community to take. A cool web 2.0 approach.

Similarly www.gotoquiz.com is a great place to build web 2.0 traffic agent quizzes. You can also create surveys and polls there. Very nice and very easy.

Quizzes on your own site - Traffic Magnets" -
Now getting onto quizzes you can plug-in to your own site here are some choice ones to check out.

If you can use scripts on your site see www.puresw.com/products/quizshock/ is a php scripts with MySql backend that allows unlimited quiz creation, points, true false, multi choice, animation options among other things.

Or if you've got a Joomla site check out Joomla quiz deluxe from www.elearningforce.biz which is very flexible and even allows you to do things like add audio and video elements.

Or just go and Google quiz software, there are loads of options; the ones above are just the ones I've checked out in detail. I actively do use the simple content approach, it's easy and it works, see free quiz question samples for an example of this in action.

It's a dead easy way to create content that's different to the normal run of the mill PLR stuff or article approach. And for live play me quizzes I use the Joomla quiz and Turboquiz applications which are excellent.

And when you want to get some top grade questions and answers for use in your quiz see Pub quiz question quiz supplies for the best quiz questions available.
