New Elizabeth Taylor FURIOUS LOVE Biopic Movie 2012

Elizabeth Taylor never authorized or really approved of any of the biographical books that were released about her life and career nor did she write a biography herself. She did, however, allow the authors of the book Furious Love to read the love letters that she exchanged with Richard Burton and Martin Scorsese has received approval from the required parties to do a biopic film about the legendry actors based on the contents of Furious Love.

Who could possibly play Elizabeth Taylor? I will not hazard a guess but I will say that it is rumoured Natalie Portman wants the part and actually tried to option the rights to the movie. Her performance and Academy Award for her work in Black Swan prove that she is capable of handling a tough role. Also considered a candidate is Angelina Jolie who is currently filming the remake of Cleopatra, another Elizabeth Taylor role. Even Catherine Zeta Jones has been mentioned.

And then there is the question of who will play Richard Burton. Will it be a Welsh boy or an established star like Leonardo DiCaprio, Russell Crowe, Brad Pitt or Michael Sheen?

It is a bit early to determine who will win the roles. The information available right now is, I believe, pure speculation.

Just in case you are uncertain, a biopic film is a movie said to be biographical in nature.

Furious Love, the book was not an authorized book but Elizabeth Taylor did cooperate with authors Sam Kashner and Nancy Schoenberger. It is thought that she cooperated because she felt that Richard Burton's legacy was being forgotten.

Richard Burton was always extremely important to Elizabeth Taylor starting at the time of their initial relationship, which was the scandal of the century because they were both married. Their marriage is said to have been the marriage of the century and she even married Burton a second time. Until her death, Elizabeth Taylor said that if Burton had lived, there likely would have been a THIRD Taylor and Burton marriage.
