The only difference between the different deshedding tools is the width. All of the tools have the same edge; different sizes were manufactured to fit different types and sizes of animals.

In our 10-animal household (dogs and cats), fur is everywhere. I thought I had found the holy grail of grooming tools in the Zoom Groom (they make different models for dogs and for cats), which removes a lot of fur without giving the animal an unpleasant experience. Now I think the Zoom Groom is a great little brush, but when it comes to amount of fur removed, it's got nothin' on the Furminator. Even my long-hair cat who dislikes being groomed will let me use the Furminator on her for a good long stretch.

WELL worth the cost!

I live in Minnesota and have a twelve-year old German Shepherd who lives indoors year-round. Her undercoat EXPLODES in the spring and fall when the weather changes so drastically, and there is simply no way to keep up with all of the brushing and vacuuming that is needed during the shedding seasons. Until... along came the FURminator! I've had the FURminator for about a year now, as I wanted to really test it out and make sure it continued to be as impressive as when I first got it, and it has. Every time I take it from its peg on the wall, my dog knows that it's time to get all that itchy, yucky, uncomfortable fur out of her coat for good, so she stands as quiet as a princess as I pull out heaps of hair (outdoors, of course.) This is the only brush I will ever use on any undercoated dog. The FURminator is more than a brush - it is truly a grooming tool. You will not be disappointed.

This was by far the best deshedding tool I've ever used. My cat and dog both look 20# lighter. They love being brushed by it!!!

It really works!

This really works. I combed my cats daily and got fur out, but Furminator gets so much more out. Since my cats loved to be combed, they love the furminator. I wish the handle were not so thick, but I guess that fits most hands better than mine. It is truly an amazing tool. Amazon's price can't be beat.

Works Great!

I really like the Furminator de-shedding tool for cats. I have a long-haired cat that is constantly getting knots in his fur. I've had the product for about three weeks, and it has really done what it promised. The only piece of advice I would give is only use it on cats for about 5 minutes at a time. My cat gets irritated at me if I use it more than that, because it really does pull the loose fur, and I believe it does cause him a little discomfort. He loves to be brushed, so his irritation has to be from the pulling. He tolerates it well for 3 to 5 minutes though, and I manage to get lots of fur off of him in that small amount of time.
