Cloth Wraper for the Bento

The furoshiki is a large piece of cloth used to wrap bento boxes. Of course that is not it's only purpose. This Wrapping cloth is also used as a shopping bag, gift wrapper and all around tote. The Fursohiki is versatile because of it's simplicity. What is important is the ability of the user to fold it into different shapes for different uses.

The Japanese Environment Ministry has been promoting the use of the Furoshiki as a green alternative for gift wrapping. They've even created the Mottainai Furoshiki (pictured here) which It's partly made of recycled plastic.

Is there any relationship to the kind of gift a package is that would denote what kind of fabric design to use? For example: would you use a particular design for weddings but not for birthdays? Would you use the same cloth when grocery shopping as a gift?
