CHALLENGES FACING BABY BOOMERS' FUTURE

Baby Boomers are faced with several challenges as they reach the age of retirement. Several of these challenges can be faced successfully if proper preparation is put into place.

Baby Boomers need to prepare NOW for the date they plan to retire. They must decide on a means of earning supplemental income to insure their future and the future of their family.

Baby Boomers have been working for many years putting forth every effort to be the best they can be for someone else. They have dreamed of the day when they could put those working days out of their minds. NOW is the time to prepare for that day. BUT, Baby Boomers are facing some tough challenges that must be addressed.

Follow the ensuing modules to see what you can do to ensure a successful retirement. A successful retirement that is prosperous for you and for your family.

CHALLENGE #1: DECREASE IN INCOME

Along with Lifestyle Change

The decrease in income is one of the toughest challenges Baby Boomers will face. Baby Boomers will have to find a way or ways to supplement their retirement income if proper preparation has not been done prior to retiring. The retirement pension is far less than the wages earned while working.

A lifestyle change is also facing Baby Boomers and is a major challenge they will be facing. No one can live the same lifestyle with less money. Remember you cannot have less income with the same obligations. This is a major challenge for Baby Boomers.

Trying to live the same lifestyle with less income is a difficult feat to overcome. Let's look at this for a moment. You have become accustomed to a certain lifestyle that is pretty cushy up until now. Along with that lifestyle you have some pretty hefty obligations. Can you maintain that same lifestyle with less income knowing that you have the same obligations? Only you can answer that question. Only you can make the decision to prepare for overcoming this challenge NOW.

CHALLENGE #2: HOW TO ENSURE SUCCESSFUL RETIREMENT

Start a Home Based Business

The future for Baby Boomers depends on the strategies put into place TODAY. More and more Baby Boomers are looking at being entrepreneurs as a means of securing their future. This will help Baby Boomers with facing the challenges that are evident. With traditional business, Baby Boomers will have to contend with hiring employees, paying for business space, and hoping the traditional business space chosen is one that is strategically located to ensure profits.

The future for Baby Boomers lies within a home based business. With a home based business, there is no hiring of employees, there is no additional cost for business space and finding a strategic location for profits is not an issue. If you look at the two - home based business versus traditional business - you will see clearly the choice is simple by opting for the home based business.

Thank you for the comment. It is good to know that somebody is reading the material you create. I am trying very hard to get the word out to those baby boomers who are contemplating retirement in the next few years. As a recently retired baby boomer, I know firsthand what the pitfalls are. If I had only taken my own advice, I would probably not be writing this information.

This is a very good lens. I worked in nursing homes and believe me, if those old folks would've had the internet, their lives may have been different. 5*
