Who Knew Pipe Cleaners Could Be So Cute?

I am a pipe cleaner artist. I make super cute pipe cleaner animals and creatures.

It all started with a trip to Hobby Lobby in Chicago back in early 2008. There was a huge selection of pipe cleaners there, and I bought a few for fun, not really know what to do with them. Then, it all sort of just happened-- a bag of pipe cleaners, a bit of serendipity, and I discovered that I had a hidden talent for transforming average pipe cleaners into works of art! I've had no formal training, did not read any books, it just happened!

Ever since then, I have made numerous little pipe cleaner critters that have brought smiles to people's faces! I specialize in miniatures, and custom pipe cleaner figurines of people's pets. I spend a lot of time twisting, bending, and fashioning pipe cleaners into cute realistic looking fuzzy friends using traditional wire-wrapping techniques. I use little to no glue in my work. My creations generally range from 1 to 2 inches in size.

My craft is very unique, and while it fascinates most people, it seems there is a select group of individuals that truly love what I do. I am very thankful for these folks, as they encourage me to push my art to the next level. I hope that in stumbling across this squidoo lens, you'll have discovered something that brightens your day! Thanks for giving me the chance to gain more exposure to my art!!

This is sooo cute! I definitely have to try it for myself. I am a big fan of needle felting kits which produce similar little creatures:

Oh, I am in LOVE. I made pipe cleaner things when I was teensy tiny, and our Christmas tree still has a bedraggled pipe cleaner Santa Claus, reindeer and snowflake from my parents' very first Christmas when they'd just married and were setting up a tiny tree in their apartment.

You do fabulous work. Such fun!
