Some of the Overseer's Items!

Just some of the items you can win...

You probably know the Aquarium Overseer is like the daily chance, but for your aquarium... but the better you take care of your tank, the better items you get! It's like karma!

Check out what the Overseer's giving you now!

Definitely one for the angelic side, Leviathan's Grace offers three great items -- anklets, mantle, and gauntlets -- that look great apart or together!

For the more malicious, there's Lidless Demon Armor in four parts -- helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots!

And for the RPG fan in all of us, there's the Regalia of Ancient Fire, perfect for that spellcaster's wardrobe! Take note, the vest on these outfits looks different on men and women!

Should All the Aquarium Items be Cash Only?

Please -- give a reason when you sound off! Full sentences are even better!

Okay, so we know you can get some of the cheaper items and fish through the daily chance... but seriously, three bucks for an octopus?!

Of course! It's an investment into a premium feature!

Holly says:

I think it's fine if gaiaonline wants to make some money off of the users by selling the aquarium fish, etc. Honestly, though, they're far too expensive. If gaia wants money from us, they would make a lot more by making the cost cheaper for users who don't have that much money. So many more people would purchase for an aquarium!

Vudu says:

its a give and take. yes, we should have to pay for some of the more flashy fishies, but the prices are a bit steep... maybe a few better daily chance items, too

Your mom+me=3 ;3 says:

Well.. They never make you buy Gaia cash. Just of the top of my head... Because if you remember you can still buy it off people in the marketplace.. Isn't that easier then spending 10 Dollers to get a stupid fish? o.o i think so.

Yuki says:

No not really. It's still fake gold they put their real money in. :/ Oh well, gaia admins and creators need something to live off, right? ;)

I just wish they could make an option where you could convert your gold to cash and cash to gold.

Mr Dio says:

I think gaia cash is fair, since you have the choice of buying it from people in the market place anyway.

The daily chance is not enough! I want to play for free!

Scereyaha says:

No, I don't like that people are encouraged to spend real money on pixels to begin with, especially added to how addictive online gaming is designed to be. As it is we have no option if we want a cool aquarium. So we're stuck with ugly and cheap if we don't want to pay real cash for pixels...

Alyssa says:

I wouldn't spend money on a virtual fish when I already have one floating around in a tank right now.

Con says:

Well.. It's okay I guess.... There's always the gaia cash tree... I guess it's both unfair and fair.. Life is life isn't it?

Tasia says:

The items should always be available in gold form. For the gaian's who remember a time when Gaia was still free...

Nikki says:

No way! If the items were a lot cheaper, then maybe I'd consider investing some of my GCash in them but c'mon, the prices right now are ridiculous!

Buy Gaia Cash Through Amazon!

Need Gaia Cash? Get it here!

A big problem for people who complain about cash-only Aquarium items is that these people have no way to buy Gaia Cash!

I've found a solution: Gaia Cash Cards are available for purchase through Amazon.com! Just buy the card through Amazon instead of going to an actual store to get them! (Isn't that awesome?)

5 Tips for Making a Cheap Aquarium

You don't need much money at all for these ideas!

  1. Play the Daily Chance! Sure, the odds suck, but I've recieved all three types of Daily Chance Fish (Goldfish, Arrowfish, and Cuttlefish), as well as backgrounds from the Daily Chance, and you can too!
  2. Scour the Marketplace! There's plenty of cheap backgrounds and items for the Aquarium in the Marketplace as people try to sell off their items, and lots of them are even under about 1,000 gold or so!
  3. Use (and abuse) the Overseer! The Overseer gives you items, and even if they're not worth much to you, they'll still fetch an extra 2-300 gold at minimum that you didn't have before!
  4. Play Daily! Lots of the aquarium's freebies are only once per day, which means you NEED to check back at least daily in order to improve your odds!
  5. RELAX! So you don't have the biggest and best aquarium. Who cares? It's a secondary function of Gaia Online, and you still have a good chance of getting great items anyway! Just take it easy and make sure you keep your fish happy with what you've got!

There's an Evolving Item in Aquariums?!

Yes! Finally, you can get an evolving item absolutely free!

Titan's Legacy is available only through the Overseer!

Did Your Fish Just Die?

Oh noes! The pets you've sunk money into are now starting to die off!

Well, there is an upside... go to the "Special" tab of your inventory (where old donation letter envelopes and such go), and you'll find wonderful "Fish Drops" to open that will give you nifty items that you can use elsewhere on Gaia Online!

A lot of folks are reporting getting many gold items (like the Gold Tiara and Gold Wristwatch) from their dead goldfish... Imagine what your fish might leave you!

Do you feel better paying for fish because of Fish Drops?

Well, when your fish die, you can get cool items now...

Loading Fetching blurbs now... please stand by

Sure! I'd rather keep the fish, but this helps!

TanteiKID13 says:

While it would be awesome if my fish stayed alive, that's simply too unrealistic to consider and I'd know I'd be annoyed if it happened. It's awesome that I get something back though.

bayewulf says:

What I do is get tons of deathroaches. I get back almost twice what I invested in them once they die by selling the opened drops!

II Lil Teddy Bear II says:

i like having the fish, but i do like the drops from them, but sometimes when you "use" them, you dont get your moneys worth.

Astrid says:

I guess if the fish didn't die, it would be less realistic & you would just keep the same fish forever. Fish Drops do help because you can get items or sell the drops. It's a plus.

sapphir3_flam3s says:

Srry but the fish won't give me a fish drop a glitch i tell you!!!!!

No... Fish dying is still stupid!

Alyssa says:

Whether I do or whether I do not get anything doens't matter, it makes me feel bad when something dies, even a virtual something. :(

Espy says:

Well... It's better that fish live only that much longer because a) I've grown attached to it; and b) the Overseer can potentially give us more items. It's also not possible, so fish should be able to hit the hay, and they do drop, after all. I believe the chances, though, of getting a good drop item is incredibly low; however, I HAVE received a Golden Tiara. :D Therefore, if fish live longer, profit can b maximised. Also, it's just plain annoying when O Pointy Pointy Anointy Nointy dies after your investment of money and time into its life.

PixiePenelope says:

I'd rather them to just live longer.

Sparky says:

I hate it when those poor little fish I raised for so many days die. And fish drops rarely give us anything neat or useful. And I don't think they EVER give anything that's worth as much as the fish themselves...cause we paid for them!

pennepasta says:

The drops aren't worth anything. I want to keep my fish.

Does Booty Grab Make having an Aquarium "Worth it"?

It's everyone's favorite new coin-catching game... and the more expensive the fish, the better the game! Everyone can play (Not just the people who paid for the fish), and the more people play your tank, the more money you get back on your investment!

Loading Fetching blurbs now... please stand by

YES! I'm totally willing to spend money on my fish because of Booty Grab!

PixiePenelope says:

Yes, but they recently tweaked it making it more of a bummer.

Xensas says:

Yes! The millions people make from bootygrab threads in the Aquarium is amazing! I wont use Gaia cash though (apart from what I can get free or if I have too much mobile credit it) but building up coins now I have my dream avi should be okay.

Sparky says:

Yeah sure it does! Or else the tank would be totally useless like the home...

pennepasta says:

Yes, but I haven't made enough gold to start up a good aquarium yet. Have you seen how much people make off of Booty Grab???

Moonijuana says:

Defintetly

Nope, still not doin' it.

Alyssa says:

There are plenty of other ways to earn gold then just roaming around aquariums looking for something that's rarely there.

Emmie says:

i dunno...i think it still could give us more gold dont you? ;3

Astrid says:

I won't invest cash into my aquarium, but I do like earning gold from playing Booty Grab on other people's aquariums. Easy gold & fun too :)

One-eyed-octopus says:

i think so... but im no gaia casher or some idiot to spend REAL money for PIXELS... hope gaia would let us convert cash to gold and vice versa...

NotEvenBotheringToPutHerNameAnymore says:

Yeah, right. Sure.

Duhder. :eyeroll:

Q: Why Can't I Sell The Fish in My Tank?!

A: Your fish have a lifespan that starts once you put them in the tank, and then slowly runs out. Once you put a fish in the tank, you can't sell it in the Marketplace anymore! (This is to prevent folks from selling expensive fish that don't have very long left to live!)

You can either use fish or sell fish, but not both!

What's your Biggest Question about Gaia Aquariums?

Tell me, and if it's a really good one, I might incorporate it into this lens in the future!
