Earning Lots of Gaia Gold can be Tough!
There's a way to earn lots of gold that doesn't require anything the Gaia Online website gives you, except the space and voice it gives everybody else.
Questing!
Questing (not to be confused with the automated Gaia Quest System) is where you set up a special Quest thread / signature telling people you're on a dedicated hunt for a specific item or two, and how they can help you get it -- either by spreading the word, bumping your thread, or donating gold and items to your cause!
Questing gets a bad rap sometimes because lots of people on Gaia don't understand that there's more to questing than just begging. Done right, you can make millions upon millions in Gaia Gold, the same way I did -- without having to scam, beg, or cheat anybody to do it!

Hi, I'm Veled!
in September of 2004, I started Questing for Mini Angel Wings, and finally recieved them in June 2005 -- after paying 8,000,000 gold for them! I had actually raised 10,000,000 by the time I had finished, so I had gold left over to give my friend an OMG, and invest in some items that would ultimately turn into my Angelic Sash after another series of quests!
Fast forward to today -- I'm worth 80,000,000 gold (yes, that's EIGHTY MILLION), not just from the general inflation of my inventory, but also in all the other items I've acquired during my questing! From Biancamella to Coco Kitty, if you can imagine it, I could probably buy it... once I sell enough of my old inventory, of course!
The best part? I've never been banned - I never bought gold off eBay, or ran illegal botting programs, or scammed anybody to get my gold! In other words, I earned my money by being one of the best questers on Gaia... and I can teach you, too!
Common Sense Disclaimer: I can't promise you that my techniques will make you 80,000,000 gold. However, once you learn how to quest properly, you should be able to get whatever item it is you're after!
Should I have a Quest Thread?
Yes! It's absolutely critical to have a good Quest Thread!
Quest Threads not only show donators that you're serious about getting this item, they can be hangouts, diaries for your progress, and a handy place to stay and bump when you have nothing better to do on Gaia!

Quick Tips for Making an Awesome Quest Thread!
- Post Your Progress At the Top!
The first post of your quest thread should contain a summary of what it is you're questing for and how close you are to earning it! - Use all 15 posts available on the first page of the thread!
It'll not only make your thread look more organized, you'll have room to add more stuff later! - Images are important!
Using pictures will help keep people's attention, and also allow them to see what it is you're going after and how close you are to finishing your quest! - Include Banners and Buttons for people to link back to your thread with!
The easier you make it for people to link back to you, the more likely they will! - Post Your Affiliates At The Bottom!
When people click those links, they usually leave the thread, so make sure they've read the rest of what you have to say first!

Make your Quest Thread a place people want to link to and hang out in, and you'll be rewarded with bumps and items!

- It's a Hangout Thread for you and all of your friends who're helping you. You'll usually have on there what it is you're questing for, and what your current standing offer(s) are, even if they're not "valuable" enough for consideration yet. This way, people can donate items that they think will help you, and they might even be willing to give you the item(s) you want for a reduced price!

- I don't think there's a default post style that does feathers... there's a "Thinking" post style that's suitably angelic, though. Barring that, you could always have a side image that could put a few feathers to the side of your posts, but you'd have to provide that image yourself.
