Gajar ka Halwa (Carrot Halwa) Recipe

This recipe is rather simple and anyone (even a novice) can make it successfully. Plus, it is a great recipe for impressing your Valentine :)
Ingredients
- 2 liter Full Cream Milk
- 1 Kg Carrots
- 250 grams Sugar
- 50 grams Cashews
- 50 grams Almonds (crushed)
- 50 grams Raisins (seedless)
Instructions
To make your special Carrot halwa... you need to do the following:
-- Wash the carrots, remove the fine hairlike tendrils, and wipe dry
-- Grate the carrots and place in a large pot
-- Add the two liters of milk, stir and put over a stove on medium heat
-- Stir occasionally. Allow to simmer.
-- Add the raisins and the nuts after about 20 minutes of coking
-- Wait until the milk reduces until it is almost half then reduce heat to low.
-- Add the sugar and mix. Allow to keep simmering. Stir every few minutes.
-- Once the mixture is barely moist, turn off heat. Pour into a large bowl and allow to cool.
Your Gajrella is ready. It can be served hot or cold. Most people prefer to have it cold.
You can decorate it by putting some cashew sprinkles on top.

Gajrella Tip
To avoid having the milk boil over, make sure that the heat is on low during the first 20 - 30 minutes and keep a ladle (the one you use to stir) in the pot.
