How to Stop a Gallbladder Attack

A gallbladder attack has become a fairly commonplace occurrence due to the modern diet and lifestyle.  The good news is that you can protect yourself against them and stop the pain of a gallbladder attack quickly, painlessly and without surgery.

The gallbladder is a small organ located directly under the liver. It acts as a bile reservoir; it concentrates bile which is secreted by the liver and is used by the body to digest fats.

If the liver is overloaded with toxins and saturated fats, the bile (which carries toxins and fats) will eventually inflame the gallbladder. When enough cholesterol deposits (from saturated fats) have formed, they crystallize with the bile to form gallstones.

If the gallbladder becomes inflamed, it can cause sever pain in the upper right abdomen, otherwise known as a "gallbladder attack".  More serious conditions can lead to fever, nausea and vomiting.  These symptoms often arise after the individual has eaten fried or fatty foods.  This condition must be treated immediately as it can be life threatening.

According to the peer reviewed medical journal Medical Hypotheses, the key to stopping and reversing a gallbladder attack is to stop overloading the liver with toxins and saturated fats. Remember, cholesterol deposits from saturated fats cause gallstones, so avoiding saturated fats in your diet is the key.

Saturated fats do not exist in the vegetable kingdom.  They are only available in meat and dairy foods.  Therefore, "vegetarian diets offer protection against gallstones." Medical Hypotheses, 40(2), February 1993, p. 81-84

A Healthy Diet

What is a healthy diet? How can you reduce your risk for gallstones while at the same time experience pain relief if you already have gallbladder pain? There are so many conflicting ideas and diets out there that it can be very difficult to understand what is correct from the junk.

So, let's keep this really simple. Gallbladder issues including gallstones are almost always caused by too much cholesterol in the diet. So, it is very simple. Just cut out cholesterol from your diet. Your body produces a small amount of cholesterol naturally and that is all you need (specifically HDL). You do not need nor want to get cholesterol from your diet. And guess what? No cholesterol AT ALL in the vegetable kingdom. Other animals produce cholesterol just like us. When we eat them, we take in their cholesterol.

And it's not just meat (chicken, fish, red meat, etc), it is also dairy foods and eggs. So, milk, ice cream, butter, etc are extremely rich in cholesterol. Do a little research to see just how high these foods are in cholesterol and you will be shocked. And remember, any cholesterol from the diet is NOT good. So, if you have gallbladder issues, just cut out the cholesterol as step 1, and you will quickly see a huge difference in your pain level.
