There are already so many likable characters in the series but personally I like the Tyrion Lannister character very much. Although blunt and very direct he seems honest and sincere to me. His razor sharp mouth compensates largely for his small stature.

The 'Seven Kingdoms' is actually one kingdom, but made up of seven formerly independent nations on the continent of Westeros united under the banner of the Iron Throne by the Targaryen family, who conquered the continent using dragons (the dragons died off generations ago). The Targaryens ruled for 300 years until they were unseated in a rebellion led by Robert Baratheon.

There are four books in the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R..R. Martin. These fantasy books have won several awards and are valued by readers all over the world. They are available in paperback, hardcover, and Kindle edition. A fifth book is in the making and will be released on July 12, 2011.

What's Your Favorite Game of Thrones Quote?

There are some pretty good quotes in the show. The quote that struck me most is a quote by Tyrion Lannister in episode 2. He talks to Jon Snow about being a bastard and while Jon initially thinks Tyrion is offending him he actually gives him some valuable advice when he says:

Never forget who you are, for surely the world won't. Armor yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.

For me it's about accepting who you are (and where you come from). It's just that it fits perfectly in the phase of my life I am in at the moment. It's almost like seeing that quote in the show was like a moment of synchronicity for me.

    You got to love Tyrion man! He has some of the best lines in the show...and even as the book progresses his character gets more and more complex and fascinating.
