The Gaming Industry

 

The video game industry is a multi billion industry. What makes it this huge is the gaming enthusiasts all over the world. These gamers are continually seeking games that provide something new, whether it be graphics, innovation, challenge and so on. The gaming industry has to continually produce these kinds of games to maintain or improve its profits. Gaming today compared two decades ago is more complex and sophisticated. Back then programmers can do the testing of the games themselves, but not these days when there are there are new games continually produced. This is the reason why game testing jobs came into existence.

Requirements To Become A Game Tester 

To be a game tester there are things that you need to understand. First of all is the age requirement. As the law dictates you need to be at least 18 years old to be a game tester. This may be restrictive to some who are younger and wanting to earn something out of something they like doing.

Second, as a game tester you won't just be playing games for hours. Yes, you will be playing games, but with the main objective of doing evaluation and assessing games. This requires you to be very attentive to specific details of the games you test. If you need to play it again and again to to confirm a bug then you will have to do it. The success of the game on the market is partly on your hands. One glitch unnoticed by testers can affect the gaming industry much.

Third, you need to be able to communicate your evaluation of the games you test clearly and properly. Again as a game tester you do a lot more than just play and test games. Basic writing skill is needed for your findings for the creators to have a basis whether the game will sell and make it on the market.

Fourth, aside from the above requirements game tester jobs would prefer if you have some knowledge of game theory, game design and a little about computer programming. These will also be factors to the rate of pay you are going to receive. Experience and skills will make you earn more.
