Game Consoles without a doubt!

lakern26 says:

Game consoles, definitely! I'm just not comfortable playing video games on a PC. Besides there are too many other things I could be looking at on the computer!

Leon says:

Game Consoles don't have compatibility issues unlike PC's. It is just plug in and play. With PC's, I have to worry about whether I have the upgrades to play the game properly, whether or not I have installed the necessary drivers, whether or not my components are working, etc.

Put it this way, try searching "ati hd4870 problems" on google as an example, and you will see why I have gone over to the console gaming side.

ArtByLinda says:

I get distracted on a PC, want to look at other things. A game console holds my concentration more. Though I do not play games much anymore at all!
Actually I do play on my laptop when traveling though!

Janusz says:

For Strategy Games & ones that offer Online battles.. I´d go for PC. I prefer my PS3 & Xbox360 for playing Soccer games, since I play these more than Strategy, I choose Games console.

blumoondew says:

Yes definitely - keeps my kids away from my computer...

Pfft! PC's are better!

Coraline says:

I'm a PC gamer since always ^^

Borg says:

I dislike console because of the fact that they are talked about like they are something special when in fact they are nothing, but a computer when it comes down to it. Only difference is consoles are tailored specifically to handle a game platform and file system. PC does that and a heck of a lot more and still use the same or similar devices that consoles use to play games. Too, when the next generation game comes out you don't have to necessarily pay a lot of money out to upgrade a computer unless you are running something from around 202 expecting to run games from 2010 which many people seem to think a computer should do because they don't really understand computers at all to start with. So, that is just a bunch of disinformation being fed to people by console owners and fan boy stereotypical people.

Also letting your computer go extremely out of date obviously will cost more to upgrade to obsoleted discontinued hardware. It may or may not be easier, but you're going to pay again either way you look at this. Just like any gaming console system they too need to be upgraded as new technologies develop so this whole debate of what is cheaper and what is not is a complete waste of time. They both cost money to upgrade to new hardware so please drop that argument because it too depends on what a gamer wants out of his or her PC and whether he or she will spend the money to get the workhorse they need because they know it will last them probably at least 6 years and they too will plan for a system that is highly scalable to run new games. So, when it comes down to it, it is about understanding computers and knowing how to shop to get the biggest bang for your buck. Consoles are also not cheap neither when it comes down to it they're just as expensive as some OEM computers ranging up to $500+ per console and some consoles have been priced at even $600 and up! So, for all of you who think consoles are cheaper might want to re-think your statements.

Also, this speak of incompatibilities - come on get real people. Incompatibilities usually come when you buy some pile of crap OEM computer from somewhere like Wal-Mart or Staples and expect it to be a super computer for $360-$500 respectively buying the cheapest computer they can. Buy good hardware and you don't run into these problems, but the problem is people are cheap and the old saying goes, ?You get what you pay for.? and that you do. I have seen Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, all of them glitch and have compatibility problems with legitimate software so, stop the fan boy consoles are better garbage because they are prone to failure too.

Now as far as graphics go, all these people saying there are no graphics glitches or artifacts, you are a bunch of fan boy console hugging people because I have seen more artifacts, glitching and lost imagery on consoles than computers in my many, many years of computer and console video gaming. The problem with this whole situation is many, many people don't understand computers so they come to these conclusions which are based purely on their own experiences or their friends' which is really a very poor way to state which is better or worse.

Computers and consoles are designed for specific targeted market groups so they are not comparable by any means other than personal preference. My preference is to go with the PC because it can do many more things than just game so it can be a family or personal tool and / or entertainment system in the right environment in ways a console just can not compare to. Too hardware and firmware limitations can affect these and many other things on console systems so really there is nothing special that sets them apart from computers other than the fact that they are tailored specifically for a game file system and platform. Other than that they are nothing more than computers themselves folks.

All in all I will take a PC over a console gaming system any day. You couldn't pay me to take a console for free.

WordCustard says:

I'm a PC Gamer! I didn't used to be, but a lot of the games I like just seem to be better suited to the PC and now with Steam and similar game engines there are not the installation problems that used to plague this kind of gaming.

Edgar says:

better graphics more custimization more functions tweaks you name it
PC has more use then console
pc is cheaper in buying games and building your own compared to buying a new console
Only reason i ever had a console was to play with friends on the bigscreen on living room and even then the gameplay is horrible for me with using controllers limited buttons crappy response on analog sticks. Most people i ask when they play shooters or anything that needs precision they say its doable which means pretty much it passes but its not recommendable.

Unless you play with friends in your house tbh it sux to have a console and upgrading a console means buying the new version which in a pc i just get a new graf card and im done for the next few years to come for less then a console costs.

DonMazonas says:

My choice is PC. I think PC has no limits for graphics whereas PS3 will not work with best graphic games in couple years time.

My choice? Game Consoles!

PC's are too expensive!

I use my PC to research for my writing and reviewing, surf the internet and work on Squidoo! It just doesn't have adequate specs to play games on although I have contemplated it several times.

However, it would be way too expensive to upgrade it so I'm sticking with what I know best and love: video consoles :)

Video Consoles can be Annoying!

But I still love them!

1 - They keep bringing out new consoles! Updated versions of older consoles like the NS DSi and Nintendo DSi XL for instance.

2 - Games are often on multiple consoles but not always on the ones that you own. Meaning that you have to have more than one console to get the full benefit of all games.

3 - They frequently have netplay. What if you can't get on line with your console?

The Game or the Platform?

What do you think?

As quoted by one gamer...
'The platform that the games play on is unimportant to me. The games are all that's important.'

What is more important? The Game or the Platform?

Loading Fetching blurbs now... please stand by

The Game! Worry about where you're going to play it afterwards.

RickyRobi says:

I have an xbox 360, a PC (game quality) and a NDS. So, I don't worry too much. I just look for a game I like.

Chadrew says:

Definitely the game.

The Platform. Duh! What's the use of a game if you have nothing to play it on?

lakern26 says:

I'm loyal to the platform. If a game doesn't fit the system I have, then I do without.

inkserotica says:

I would have to say the Platform at the moment. I can't afford to buy games that I don't have the platform for in order to play it no matter how badly I want the game. I have 10 consoles approx. and have more than enough choice for games :)

SudokuNut says:

I just can't get into playing anything other than cheap n' cheerful flash games on the PC. The game is obviously the most important thing but I'd rather play it on a console rather than a PC...not least because I don't want to spend $$$ no a dedicated game system or upgrading an existing PC to run the game as it should be ran.

I find a lot of the games for Xbox or Wii don't interest me, they are either hardcore action, racing or 'family' (with the emphasis on kids or group play). Adult women have a hard time finding good games (assuming they are not classic gamers, as of course some women are) and the PC always seems the best platform for those that exist. Good debate.

I'm an Xbox player - I prefer consoles unless you want to play games like flight sims or RPGs.

I like playing video games best when it's on a video game console. Playing it on the PC just doesn't have the same experience for me.

As to where you could find new or used games, you could try my Amazon astore called Super Games.
