Games for Macs

Who says there are no games for Macs?

PCs may have more games than Macs, but Macs have enough games for me. I guess it depends on your taste in games. A couple of my favorite computer games are The Sims and World of Warcraft, so that makes it easy for me to switch from a PC to a Mac because both of those game franchises are on Macs too. However, I still play games on the PC!

There are other Mac games besides those that are great too, and as someone switching from PC to Mac, it is exciting to discover these games. I'll share what I find here with you. Leave a comment about games you like for the Mac.

Hoyle Card Games 2008

This is the version of Hoyle Card games I have for my Mac and I like it. The game I play the most is Canasta, which I didn't even know existed until I got this game. I know there are newer versions -- 2009, 2010, and 2011, but they have really bad ratings on Amazon so I am not featuring those versions.

World of Warcraft for the Mac

Who needs a PC when you can play WoW on a Mac?

Please note that if you have World of Warcraft for Windows, you don't need to buy a separate version for the Mac if you have your login ID. You would already have a license for it and could download the Wow client at Blizzard's site.

Ah, the Sims. I love the Sims and it's great that you can get the first Sims game and all the expansions rather inexpensively.

I don't know of a package for the Mac where you can get all the Sims 2 expansion packs together. I suppose when Sims 3 comes out they'll make something like that? For now, the trouble of installing the Sims 2, and then all of the expansion packs on the Mac is worth it to play one of the best games ever!

As you might know, Maxis is the company that created The Sims and releases the PC games. Aspyr Media ports the Sims games to the Mac. That's my understanding of why all the Sims expansions are not available for the Mac, and I've read that some people wonder if FreeTime will ever be available for the Mac.
