1 - Dragonica Online
A Free 3D Side-Scroller MMORPG
Dragonica Online or Dragon Saga is a free online game just like Maplestory. Dragonica is a 3D based side-scrolling adventure style MMORPG with movement focused mainly on the horizontal axis. The game is based around a face paced action packed combat system that uses real-time. Players will experience hundreds of varied quests, a great dungeon exploration system and a uniquely fun style of gaming that is not available in most new release games.
Players of Dragonica have a large number of missions and quests to choose from and can either play alone or co-operatively with friends. Players also have access to the PvP Arena where they can battle against friends and other Dragonica players.
Dragonica offers six differenet base classes from which you can develop your character to specialise in a particular area (up to 3 tier job advancements), offering great re-playability and diversity among players. The interface takes a page out of MapleStory's book and is extremely accessible and easy to navigate, only enhancing an already great experience.
Dragonica Online is one of the best Maplestory like games available with its only downside being the massive download file size (around 2.1GB).

2 - WonderKing
A Game Just Like MapleStory
Like Maplestory, WonderKing (WK) is an anime inspired MMORPG that uses a 2D side-scrolling style. WonderKing offers amazing graphics and a solid combat system that is alot like MapleStory (in fact its basically identical).WonderKing focuses on players venturing throughout the extensive world completing quests and slaying the various monsters. Like most MMORPGs WonderKing allows players to take on the world solo or fight with friends by forming a part of adventurers. MapleStory players will instantly recognise the four basic classes available in WonderKing (Swordsman, Thief, Mage and Scout) and its simple but effective control system.
WonderKing does hold several advantages over MapleStory; its crafting and PvP system were early additions to the game, making them feel a part of the game rather then added extras slapped on later. The only weakness of WonderKing is its limited character classes compared to similar MMORPGs but this is expected to expand in the future.

3 - MapleStory Adventures
MapleStory Facebook Game (Playable In Your Browser!)
MapleStory Adventures was created by Nexon to allow MapleStory fans to play a Maplestory like game right inside their browser without the need for any download. The game is available for free via Facebook and MapleStory fans will instantly recognise the (wonderful) login screen music upon entering the Facebook App Page.MapleStory adventures allows players to adventure with their Facebook friends, find powerful in-game items and discover a new MapleStory inspired world. The game features a very simple controls and can be played with just a mouse. Users of MapleStory Adventures are limited by energy much like other popular Facebook games (Farmville, Mafia Wars) which slowly regenerates over time or can be replenished via dropped items or levelling up.
MapleStory Adventures grants players many customisable character options and is a fun browser based game to play while you chat to your friends online, but it will never replace the real MapleStory.

MapleStory on the iPhone or iPad
The gameplay is very simple being an iPhone/iPad adoption of the franchise but it is still very enjoyable to play on the go. Players explore several randomised dungeons to kill various monsters and collect loot, with each dungeon ending with a boss.
For a $2 purchase you cannot go wrong with MapleStory Cave Crawlers.

5 - Dungeon Fighter Online
Another Nexon Creation
Dungeon Fighter Online packs a highly unique retro based graphic system with a fast paced combo style of combat. Dungeon Fighter Online has alot of available content and levels to explore. DFO offers lots of customisation with more than 30 playable classes allowing you to create the perfect character for your playstyle. It also includes a strong PvP arena filled with a variety of options.
All of DFO's content is instanced, with each dungeon only taking a few minutes to complete, making this game a great casual gaming choice.
Dungeon Fighter Online also houses a large playerbase and is another great Nexon game that is like Maplestory.

2D Fantasy MMORPG Like MapleStory
Trickster Online is another MapleStory inspired 2D fantasy MMORPG with vibrant colours and an exciting world to explore. Unlike other MMORPGs Trickster Online is easy to start and has a very small learning curve.Trickster offers players 8 different character classes and has an amazing 12 different stats to personalise your character and gaming experience. The game also offers many unique features such as a high level cap of 400, mini-games and searching for items (through drilling).
The file size of Trickster is very small in comparison to similar games making Trickerster Online a great choice for those of you looking for a free and casual MapleStory alternative.

LaTale is another 2D fantasy side-scroller which definitely draws art and character design from MapleStory.Latale's strength lies within its massive amount of character customisation through the detailed character skill system. Like most MMORPGs LaTale offers all the standard features including a PvP Arena, play crafting and an abundance of different skills among the available classes.
Players of LaTale are in for a treat with its great music soundtrack and its massive collection of skill animation.
LaTale is a strong choice for any MMORPG fan and with its high player base is one of the best free MMORPGs available.

9 - Wind Slayer 2
The game features six classes to explore with, complete quests and battle other players in the Arena. The best feature of Wind Slayer 2 is the experience rate which I consider to be one of the fastest of any MMORPG so you do feel constantly rewarded and satisfied.
Overall the game suffers from a small-medium playerbase that can feel you leaving lonely depending on your timezone, the repetitive quest styles and poor controls can also occasionally get tiring.

- I think Ghost online whatever it is, is like maplestory, and grandchase is probably elsword now. LaTale and Maple are the only games i could get into. DragonSaga seemed a bit childlike to me.
