Garden Statues have had a place in my heart from childhood. Being a gardener, I know how much work goes into creating the perfect landscape. Adding a garden statue is like adding words to music. It gives concrete expression to the other elements that create your garden atmosphere. However, using the wrong garden statue is like hitting the wrong note. It pays to do more than simply pick what you like.

Garden Statues Are Like Jewelry On A New Dress...

Think about it, you spend hours pouring over garden catalogs. You select the perfect seed and sow it in soil that you have carefully fortified with organic matter. All of it fits into a garden plan that if you haven't committed to paper, at least resides in your head. As your plants grow, you lovingly tend them until that plan begins to take physical shape. Adding a garden statue brings all of that into focus so that others can enjoy what you have envisioned.

Select the Right Garden Statues For Your Space

Finding the right garden statues isn't rocket science but there are some things you need to consider before you make a purchase. How big is your garden? What kind of statue would look best? What should it be made out of?

I cover this and more in my Outdoor Garden Statue Blog.

Did you know that a statue that is too big in a small space is as bad as one that is too small in a large one? You can put a small one on a pedestal or other base but you can't shrink that big one. That is why it is important to consider the scale of your garden project before you buy a statue.
