Five Basic Gardening Tips

For the new gardener just getting started

To be the best gardener you can be, there are some basic rules you need to follow. By sticking to this, you can ensure that your efforts will pay off and you will have a lovely garden to look in to.

1. Grow What You Love
Don't just pick anything to grow, find what you are interested and grow that. Some plants are harder to grow than others, but anything will turn out fine with enough effort.

2. Don't Overwater
Many people feel that the more water they give, the better. If you give your plants too much water, they will drown and you will lose all the effort you invested. You don't want that now, do you?

3. Use The Right Fertilizer
Some plants need a different mix of nutrients than others, so be educated about what you are growing and do what needs to be done. Like with water, too much of any nutrient can be detrimental to your plant's growth.

4. Plan Out Your Space
You need to know what you are growing and where. This is important so plants do not get in each other's way, and so your garden looks nice.

5. Remember Appearance Matters
Next to the quality of the food, the appearance of your garden is the next most important thing; in fact, to some people, appearance is the only thing that matters. You can make your garden look good by planting colorful plants and flowers, and also putting up ornamental decorations.

These are only some of the basic principles of gardening, and there are many other important concepts you need to focus on as well.

The Importance of Light

How the Sun Helps YOU!

Everybody knows there are three fundamental ingredients to making a plant grow. First you have water, then carbon dioxide, and finally there is sunlight. These three components are essential to photosynthesis, which is how plants convert these chemicals in to glucose for energy.

If one of these parts was missing, a plant simply would not grow. All life functions on negative entropy, and needs a steady input of energy in order to survive. Taking away energy results in death. On the other hand, producing energy creates and sustains life! That is why you need to make sure your plants get plenty of quality sunlight. This will ensure that photosynthesis keeps pushing on. Unlike water, your plants can never get enough light, so keep the shine coming on. Of course, if you garden outside, then light is dependent on the motions of the sun, and no human has control over something so grand. For things like this, you have to put your trust in nature and the Universe. Also, remember that the health benefits of gardening are strengthened even further by you yourself being in the light, as it helps you produce Vitamin D.

Vegetable Garden Design

When it comes to vegetable garden design, there are special things you need to pay attention to. First, you need to know exactly what vegetables you are going to grow, as well as how they interact with each other.

There are many resources online for learning the exact principles of vegetable garden design. By consulting these resources, you can ensure that your garden will be great.

Garden Furniture Sets

Using Furniture to Accentuate Your Garden

If you put a lot of time in to your garden, you are probably going to want to look at it and enjoy its presence. Since most people do not like to just sit down on the ground, you must have something you can sit on. This is where garden furniture comes in to play. With the right garden furniture, you can accommodate many people, and have a nice day by the garden.

Depending on your specific situation, one or more garden furniture sets will be necessary. Some sets come with both chairs and a table, so you can also eat while outside (perhaps vegetables right from your garden!)

Garden furniture sets are not exceptionally expensive and you can get a good one for a hundred dollars or less. Just take your time in finding what you want and you will definitely come out with something good.
