Cathy Sutton can't seem to keep her hands too far from the dirt. She has a BS in Science and Environmental Change with a Soil Science option. She also has a MS in Crop Production with a Soil Science option as well. Studying soil and plants has helped her to appreciate plant-soil interactions.
One thought comes to mind: when vegetables are planted in a regular garden they are growing in a soil medium. Now could that very soil medium be the one limiting factor in growth and production? Hence, by removing that in hydroponics, is the sky the limit in terms of plant growth and vegetables produced? Time will tell the answer to this question
