Protecting Your Garden from Pests
Insects, rabbits, mice, deer and other pests love your vegetables and fruits as much as you do. Here are natural ways to prevent pests from destroying your garden.1. keep your soil slightly acidic, around 6.5 pH
2. fertilize the soil to keep the plants health so they are better able to fight off pests
3. select seeds that are made to fight off pests, or select plants that are healthy
4. encourage Assassin bugs, stink bugs and others that feed on garden pests such as aphids, potato beetles, and caterpillars
5. watering in the morning helps prevent fungus so plants are healthy and minimizes insect damage
6. alternate plants in your garden so all of the same plants are not grouped together, thus discouraging an insect population explosion
7. remove any part of a plant that is attacked to halt the spread
