Emma likes growing things that are edible. Her kitchen garden is only 5 years old, and a work in progress. Lots of things are grow in containers, but there are also 3 raised beds and some minarette fruit trees planted directly into the soil.

There's also a half finished Grow Dome (a self-heating greenhouse) and three chickens - Princess Layer, Cluck Skywalker and Chewbucka - who helpfully ignore weeds and try and eat the crops. But they do like snails, so they're forgiven. Usually.

Britain's Largest Greenhouse

A giant, and yet eco-friendly tomato farm

Jimmy Doherty visits Britain's biggest greenhouse, which grows 10% of all UK tomatoes. It cost £10m to build, and uses waste heat and carbon dioxide from a nearby factory to increase yields. Not only that, but they use bumblebees for pollination and biological controls instead of pesticides.
