Garmin Nuvi 1490LMT

This item performs as described. It's a very solid GPS. Garmin Nuvi 1490LMT seems to have the majority of the features one would want in a GPS. Boots pretty quickly, directions seem to be solid. Text-to-speech works well, it seems. Seems fast enough, where my Tomtom often, in tight turns, would lag behind and I wasn't always able to tell what to do next if there was navigation soon after a tight turn. It has big screen, very clear, very easy to use.It also set's time & time zone automatically (these had to be done manually on my Tomtom). Another great feature that I love with Garmin Nuvi 1490LMT is that it lets me put in multiple destinations and will sort them automatically to reduce driving time and calculates a more fuel-efficient route. Besides that, it automatically sets day and night colors (I had to do this manually on the Tomtom). Entering addresses seems to be quick and easy,faster & more natural than Tomtom. You also do not need to worry whether to turn it on or of when you entering your cars because this Garmin nuvi 1490LMT turns itself on and off with the vehicle. Garmin Nuvi 1490LMT also supports Micro-SD card for expansion.

There are also negative side of this device. While it does include traffic, traffic is sometimes helpful and often it doesn't seem to add much. I may have a better feel for this later. Traffic is ad-supported, so when you are stopped you'll see ads.Sometimes, in a stop mid-route the Garmin Nuvi 1490LMT seems to "forget" I was navigating somewhere. I haven't figured out why. It "seems" you should allow the Garmin Nuvi 1490LMT to turn itself on and off automatically with the car to be enable it to remember the route.
