An Honest Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS Review

Pros

- Easy to use - awesome touchscreen works great

- Works extremely well. Recalculates routing almost immediately if you fail to make the directed turn.

- You have a choice of different voices to guide you through your turns.

- Very easy to use right out of the box - just type in the address and the garmin 350 tells you when to turn and what street to turn on. Very accurate - No missed routes or late turns

- The maps are very detailed. You can find almost every place, restaurant, gas station, you name it.

- Built in MP3 player. It plays MP3s from an SD card, and it pauses the music to give you directions. Can connect 3.5 mm audio plug.

- Support for plug and play - USB

- Also included was a leather case and in-home (plug-in to socket) charger. Both of these could cost a lot more separately.

- Compact 700 MB on board memory. Bundled MP3 player, audio book player (subscription to Audible.com required), JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock with time zones, currency converter, measurement converter, calculator and more.

- Small enough to fit in a pocket or purse; mounts on vehicle windshield with included suction cup

- Preloaded with City Navigator NT V.5 with maps of U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico

- When WALKING, the GPS can also function as a pedometer and speedometer.

- Detour button that recalulates a route around a problem area - priceless! saved me from getting in a traffic jam

Cons

- You can't program a ride with several stops. But the fact that you can save dozens of favorite locations diminishes this.

- It can take a long time to acquire the satellite and download the maps.

- It's a little slow on start up and sometimes is a bit off on locations - maps need to be more updated

- From time to time, it freezes up and you have to click reset and start it up again

- Hard to tell how much battery power remains. No easy battery change out without breaking into the unit.

- No external volume control

Overall, I think the Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS is a great little device! It has all the features of the high priced ones (JPG, MP 3 player etc.) without killing your wallet. Absolute great quality & value.
