The Garmin GolfLogix GPS Advantage

Wouldn't it be wonderful to have the special tools you need to improve your golf score? Of course it would. Ever since 12th century Scottish shepherds started hitting stones into rabbit holes using sticks, golfers have been looking for ways to upgrade their game and lower their scores in order to meet personal goals and impress others. The game has come a long way in the last 800 years, and many changes have been made in the game, but there's still room for improvement. The Garmin GolfLogix GPS will give you the assistance you need to take your game to the next level.

If you're looking for accuracy when computing distance, you'll want the handheld advantage of the GolfLogix GPS.

This lightweight little unit can go with you right up to the ball where it can measure distances much better than models located on golf carts. You'll never have to worry about an unexpected shower damaging your GPS, because the GolfLogix is totally waterproof. In addition, it was made to be shockproof, so if it gets dropped during a game or tumbles around in your golf bag, it's still going to work just fine. You'll see the Garmin quality all over this great GPS, because Garmin put all the research and improvements into the unit before they ever put it on the market.

Purchasing a GolfLogix will allow you to download one golf course of your choice and buy an annual membership for $29.95. If you play on one course consistently, you may not want to purchase a membership. With membership, however, you can download an unlimited number of different courses located all over the world so that no matter where you travel you'll have your golfing assistant right by your side. For this same membership fee, you'll also get access to all GolfLogix GPS improvements and upgrades which will keep your unit current.

So, how many maps will you have access to after purchasing a membership?

How about a mind-boggling 23,100? You can have course layouts, individual hole lengths, and a variety of other statistics that will allow you to play your best golf everywhere you go. Naturally, although Garmin has tried to be comprehensive in offering maps of any golf course you might want to play, it may have missed a few. If you don't find the information you need about a particular course, you can file a request for a map of that course. Within a maximum of 2 weeks (usually 3-5 days) Garmin will supply you with any map you need. All it takes is a little planning ahead.

The USGA and the R&A have both sanctioned the use of satellite-based distance measurement via GPS during tournaments,

so you know you'll have no worries about playing using non-regulation equipment. The GolfLogix GPS is just another step in the 800-year-long evolution of the game of golf, and there's nothing wrong with incorporating a little technology into your game. After all, it isn't like your personal assistant is going to be taking your swings and sinking your putts for you. You'll still have to do that yourself.
