- Thanks for your help! I've been trying to decide between gas & electric, but had nothing to go on...untill now, that is :)

- To my regret my electric trimmer is only 2 years old (and has good health!). But I want cordless!

- Cordless Electric is the ONLY way to go. I keep several batteries ready to go at all times; I can do a BIG lawn w/o having to recharge. ... The one downside is that in the first few days of the cutting season, my arms and shoulders still get a bit tired; the gizmos are lighter than most of the gas-driven gadgets, but they are not really true "featherweights."

- Excellent product review, Dan! I have a trimmer just like this, and I love it. Your review clearly illustrates your own passion for it. I do find that tall weeds can cause a problem with my electric trimmer. (Maybe mine is slightly older or a slightly different model.) Some Arkansas weeds can have stalks that are as thick and tough as small tree branches. Those my trimmer has problems with. Otherwise, I LOVE it! Thumbs up!

- I really like the flexibility of the cordless trimmers but must admit I like the power you get with the petrol hedge trimmers too.

- I prefer my electric trimmer. The gas trimmer is too heavy to handle for long and our yard is big.
Thanks for sharing

- Great lens. I let my husband do the trimming in our yard.

- I wish we had a yard like yours. Ours is laden with rocks and mostly weeds. The majority of our yard work must be done with a weed eater. Unfortunately we had to retire our prized hedgehog for a more commercial workhorse. Great lens!

- Hmmm. We need a new one. The gas one is a pain. The head weed trimmer doesn't like batteries, but he'd certainly like something lighter with less smoke, and quieter is good. Hmmm. Might have to do some shopping.

- Great information. I can't stand the noise of gas powered lawn tools, so I'm all for electric :)

- great lens. I agree: if you can manage with electric, don't go for gas.

I was never impressed with gasoline powered grass trimmers. Typical electric trimmers were very impractical due to the size of the yard I take care of.
