If you're like most people, you might have owned a RC car or truck. Maybe you as an inexpensive small battery-operated truck from someplace like Kmart. Who ran on regular batteries, and probably ran about five to 10 miles an hour top speed. And you know what? At the time it was probably a blast to play with.
I remember as a kid having several cheap RC trucks. They ran off D batteries, didn't have a long run time & were slow. But, I sure had fun spending hours driving them up & down the neighborhood. They were so underpowered I had trouble driving them through the grass of the front yard. Mom always said it was I wouldn't keep the grass cut... Nah! It had to be because the trucks were underpowered.
The older technology really had problem getting the speed & power out of these motors.
What about today? Maybe you're looking for something with more kick in power. Did you know, that's there are gas rc trucks to can travel up to 50mph? Man technology has come a long way, hasn't it?
But these high-tech cousins of the Radio Shack truck comes with more power a tricked out engine, heavy-duty suspension and run off Nitro instead of batteries. Now of course, they come with a pretty hefty price tag for $500 and up, but the jump in performance will let you know exactly where your dollars went.

Climbing Some Dirt!
Hours of fun await you!
You can spend hours of fun running a RC Truck through it paces. It really is a blast kicking up the dirt, climbing & jumping. It's amazing how much air you can get out of these bad boys.
I really like the fact that you don't need a lot of space to get these going. Just a spot with some dirt piles, some jumps & away you go. A real plus is you can push the trucks to the extreme without much worries. If one wipes out, they almost always seem to roll back over on it's wheels.
You're probably wondering, what is the best truck to get especially if you are going to spend a lot of money. Who can blame you; I'd want to know who's reliable before I dropped this kind of money on a hobby. Be prepared to spend upwards of $500 for the best. A couple of the best are Traxxas & HPI. They make some of the toughest, most reliable trucks on the market. They have great support plenty of parts and outstanding guarantee. Really, you can't go wrong picking one of these two.
In the long run, you may get much more enjoyment more uptime, and just a lot more fun. Why spend more money have more downtime with maintenance and repairs.
