Gay Romance and Gay Fiction Is The Number One Trend In Romance Novels

Gay romance and gay fiction are the most rapidly-growing category of romance novels. Independent E-publishers were the first to exploit this hot new trend in romantic fiction, because it was less cost prohibitive to produce an ebook than to do a print book run. The audience for these books has been willing to try an unusual technology to get their fix of it ever since.

Now e-reader technology has caught up with the ebook marketplace, and the focus has switched. Instead of readers looking for gay literature to read, and then figuring out how to read an ebook, the opposite is happening. Readers buy a Kindle, a Nook, an iPad or some other e-reader device and they start looking around for ebooks to download. Many of these new e-reader adaptors are discovering the new hot genre for the first time, because while this romance category was often marginalized in brick and mortar bookstores, it's been popular for years as gay romance and gay fiction ebooks.

Styles Of Gay Literature

Both gay romance and gay fiction can be

- contemporary
- historical
- mystery
- thriller
- or paranormal,

to name a few styles. Some gay romances have lots of explicit sex scenes, while some have more of a romantic focus and a "fade to black" when the sex occurs. Many gay romances do not read much like romance novels at all. M/M paranormal, mysteries and thrillers owe more to the story conventions of those genres, but with man-on-man romantic subplots and fully realized sex scenes.

Hot, Compelling, Wonderfully Flawed....

Since Jordan Castillo Price first published her PsyCop series the face of the entire genre shifted from just hot to burning. Her writing style simply grabs you with its intriguing authenticity. Not only are the bad guys ghostily creative and deliciously creepy and dangerous, but the emotional and sexual content is raw and very, very breath taking.

Each of the so far 5 volumes of PsyCop is a compelling read that grabs you keeps you right from the first sentence. It pulls you into the universe of a Chicago that´s slightly different from what we know it to be....

An additional dimension of crime, a non-corporeal one, ghostly, dangerous and mysterious is kept at bay by the Chicago PsyCop Unit. The detectives are paired off in teams of two, one a certified and licensed high level medium and the other a non-psychic stiff. The main protagonist, Victor Bayne has been best described by a fan as "Victor Bayne is a wonderfully flawed and complex character, who I found myself rooting for as often as I wanted to throttle him."
