Gay Days at Walt Disney World

Gay Days began in 1991 as a single one day celebration when the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi and Transgender) community and friends were encouraged to meet and have fun at the Disney World Park in Orlando. On the first Saturday in June Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals and Transgender visitors where asked to "Wear Red and Be Seen" while visiting the world's most popular theme park.

Gay Days at Walt Disney World is not an official Disney event but an LGBT community run celebration.

From humble beginnings the one-day park visit has evolved into a week long, citywide celebration. Gay Days attracts a staggering 135,000 plus party goers from all corners of the globe which adds an estimated $100 million dollars into the local economy.

In keeping with the original tradition of visiting the Magic Kingdom on the first Saturday in June, Gay Days has now added: Thursday at Disney's Animal Kingdom, Friday at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Sunday at Epcot. There are now also a number of night time events that are held at local clubs and hotels. Gay Day vacationers can enjoy pool parties, cocktail parties, live performances and internationally renowned DJ's.
