It is well known that repeated stress, unhealthy thoughts, especially when there are too many of them, also not knowing how to escape into a quiet place of your mind, if only for 15 minutes a day (Gayatri mantra meditation is a great technique which you can practise for 15 minutes each day), can lead you even to a nervous break down. These are all troubles of our modern world. What is more, if you experience these troubles each day, this can also result in many illnesses; it is known that there are more than 90% of conditions and illnesses that are caused by unhealthy thoughts. Depression and anxiety are just two mental conditions that can do serious trouble to your health and life.

I first heard of Gayatri Mantra Meditation in 2004, and practiced it for only a very short period of time. Then I forgot about it, but life itself and some changes in my life forced me to slow down and return to researching, learning and accepting this huge gift of Gayatri mantra 6 months ago. I'm also practising Vortex meditations, together with Theta Healing technique and can say that I've just recently begun to notice slight changes in my reactions towards what is happening in my life.Do you know that Gayatri mantra was found in Rig Vedas and that it is written in 24 syllabless in 3 lines? Each line has eight syllables. Gayatri is consisted of "gay/gai", which means "to sing" and "tra", which means "to protect", this is why the meaning of the word "Gayatri" means "she who protects the singer".
It is no wonder then that even the name of this mantra itself implies to mantra which protects the singer from everything: from illnesses, conditions, also from stress and anxiety and everything that could harm your mental and spiritual body.
It is said that its power is almost unlimited - it does not only relieve us from stress and anxiety, but also helps us to get what we want. It sharpens our senses and acceptance of everything that we could otherwise not accept. It was given to humankind to help us get everything that is benneficial for us.

Learn how to meditate correctly with Gayatri Mantra Meditation
Gayatri mantra is usually sung by orselves or, if you do not know the whole Gayatri mantra by memory, you can listen to the music where this old mantra is sung by another person. Deva Premal is an amazing singer who also sings Gayatri mantra and once you hear her voice, you will also notice that this amazing artist has some really incredible power in her voice. I was amazed when I first heard her singing and since there are many versions of songs for this Gayatri Mantra Meditation, I still think that Deva's voice fits the best in.When listening to Gayatri mantra, you do not have to do anything. There is nothing you should do or think. But it helps, if you:
1. breathe deeply (inhale deeply into your lungs and exhale) before you start practising Gayatri Mantra meditation and then repeat the process of deep breathing 3 times each time Gayatri mantra repeats.
2. drink plenty of water, since your body detoxicates during listening to this mantra
3. lie comfortably in the bed or on some solid surface
4. are warm enough not to let the cold disturb you
5. use the blanket to cover your feet or hands, if it is too cold in the room
6. try to think of some beautiful place, if you can not calm down your thoughts
7. it is quiet in the room
8. your radio or MP3 plays Gayatri mantra music loud enough you can hear it
You will need 20 - 40 minutes of listening to Gayatri mantra in the morning, in the middle of the day (after coming home from work) and before you go to sleep. Once you stop practising Gayatri mantra meditation, you can return to your everyday's activities.

This Gayatri Mantra Meditation does miracles...sometimes very small, but many times very noticeable. Noticeable not just by yourself, but also by other people around you, whom you are living with.
Here is Gayatri mantra:
om
bhur bhuva svaha
tat savitur varenyam
bhargo devasya dheemahi
dhiyo yonah prachodayat
The translation:
Om means: ultimate reality
bhur means: plane of the five elements; also the matter
bhuvah means: of prana; plane to the life-force
svah means: plane of the mind
tat means: that
savitur means: the sun; the solar orb; of the Solar Being, also the light and energy of the sun
varenyam splendid, beautiful, choice-worthy, wondrous
bhargo means: the Spirit that is dwelling within the sun; also the light of knowledge that dissolves our fear and ignorance
devasya means: brilliant, of the divine, shining
dhimahi means: contemplate recollect, we meditate upon, call to mind
dhiyo means: intellect (buddhi), thoughts (vritti), inner vision
yo means: who
nah means: our
prachodayat means: may he guide,direct, lead

- Very nicely presented. When it comes to esoteric meanings - it certainly packs a punch! I do practice the 'Gayatri' chant and meditation almost each day. It is magical in the ways it can benefit a person! Thanks for the highlight!
