saint marks bath house memorabilia added at gaytubs.com

In 1992 ,photographer Gail S. Goodman was given entrance into the closed Saint Marks bath House. The bath house had been closed in 1985 by the City of New York because of the AIDS crisis. Gail was able to preserve the History by photographing inside. Collecting the signs and the memorabilia still at the front desk. Many of these materials are now posted on gaytubs.com. The entire collection will be exhibited at the Leslie/Lohman gay art foundation. You will find all this info on the gaytubs site. Also check out the NYC baths to get additional information on the Saint Marks' Bath House preservation project. This site is run by one guy who wants to preserve the history of gaybaths. If you have information add it to the blog or contact him to share history. He doessn't need to keep the item. You can send a photograph. Anything you can add to the history will live on!

This sign was taken down and photographed in my home. While it was on the black tile wall there was no ambient light and the flash would have wiped it out. There was no power in the club that had been closed since1985/
