Gears of War Figures

Gears of War is a video game about a squad of fighters, or "COG", in a future wasteland fighting to save human inhabitants from the Horde. The game is an over the shoulder third person shooter that is plenty violent and plenty fun. The online options are fantastic and the co-op mode is fun to play as well. I have been playing Gears of War since the first edition and was quick to purchase Gears of War 2. I eagerly await the release of Gears of War 3 in Sept 2011.

The other things that have come out of the Gears franchise is toys and figures. There are some amazing action figures available from the game. Both from the human fighter side to the enemy, or Horde, side. The Gear of War action figures are very lifelike and each year get more graphic. Not only are there action figures but the toys are quite exciting as well. Just check out something like the Gears of War Lancer. This is a cool replica of the fighting weapon used by the COG.

Of course everyone enjoys getting the Gears of War COG action figures like Marcus Fenix, Dominic Santiago, Augustus Cole and Damon Baird. Marcus is the defacto leader and protagonist of the whole game. Then again if you get the COG you are going to want to get some of the action figures of the Locust Horde. That way you can set up a battle ground if you want or just make a cool display in your home. Either way the Gears of War action figures will be fun to have.

We have been playing Gears of War on the XBOX for a few years now. It is the my favorite game to date on the game system. We started collecting the action figures once we saw how cool and menacing they looked. We have created a nice display up in the kid's room. They actually play with the Gears of War action figures. It is not like they keep them in the packaging. No, they may not be a perfect collectors item in the future but we prefer the kids to actually play with their Gears of War toys and they would prefer to do that than simply look at the and sit them on the shelf.
