The other day I received a great question from one of my network marketing assosciates. They wrote:

"I am pretty new to Internet Network Marketing, actually less than two months. How do I build value when I don't have an MLM downline yet? I don't want to go after my friends and family."

His question sounded really familiar to me, because when I first got started in my network marketing business I wanted to work completely in the "cold market" and not bug my friends and family.

I was instructed by my Sponsor to start buying and cold calling leads. I spent a hundreds of dollars, and hours of time with nothing to show for it 4 months later?

One new associate and a bank account several hundred dollars lighter.

My upline kept telling me - get on the training calls, adjust your posture, etc. etc.

I kept coming back to the same question though... How do I build value with no MLM downline? And furthermore, how will this ever be duplicable.

If I ever sponsored someone, they would have to have lots of money to invest and a VERY strong desire to succeed to do what I was doing. And let's face it, some people are natural at talking to others and others struggle. Sure anyone can learn, but will they learn fast enough to stay with the business?

One day I woke up and figured something out. It hit me like a slap in the face. I mean what I discovered has totally revolutionized my MLM network marketing business.

When I finally hit rock bottom, totally burned out from spending tons of cash on worthless opportunity seekers leads, I stopped working on my MLM business. I spent the next few months educating myself with Mike Dillard's Magnetic Sponsoring, and learning what I needed to learn to actually make this business work.

The Biggest Change came when I decided to change the way I look at my MLM business. You see I had never looked at it as "MY BUSINESS". I finally stood up and started acting like a leader. Just because you don't have an MLM downline, does not mean that you don't have value. By the way you act or speak with MLM prospects can show them the value you bring. People want to follow a leader.

So what if you don't know much about Internet Network Marketing? If you know anything, even a little bit, you probably know more that 90% of the people involved in the MLM industry. This is value. This is value you can bring to your MLM prospects that are looking for a change.

The bottom line is that you don't have to have a MLM downline to offer value. Learn the skills that are necessary to succeed, and that becomes your value. Start small, learn the basics, start acting like a leader today.

If all you do is tell yourself that you are a leader and you have unique skills to offer, people will start being attracted to you and look to you to lead them. Change your mindset, and good things will happen in your MLM business.

This subject is very important to success, so I thought I better spend a bit more time explaining my MLM system.

So today I wanted to cover the three legs of a basic Internet MLM lead generation system.

These 3 legs are:
- A Lead Capture Page
- The Auto Responder
- A Blog for Branding

These are the only three things that you need to set- up for a great a MLM system that converts MLM prospects into new associates.

The MLM Lead Capture Page
This is simply a web page that has single focus - to get MLM prospects to subscribe to your list.

The Auto Responder
The auto responder is simply a service that allows you to very easily email your list of subscribers. You can load a series of emails into this system and they will be delivered automatically at a preset interval. I recommend using this service if you are looking for a quality autoresponder. Don't try to host this yourself.

A Blog for Branding
As we have discussed previously, and important aspect of marketing online is branding yourself and your MLM system. A blog is a very simple way of generating content in the form of articles that allow you to brand yourself and your MLM system over time. It is probably the easiest way to build your own web site and will also generate visitors from the search engines over time.

I don't have time in this post to fully explain how to setup and use these three components, I will however be covering these parts in detail in the future.

...since several people had questions about how I use it.

For my warm market I have a business card that simply has my unique address printed on it. If I meet someone that wants to know more about the business, I give them a card and they go check out the site.

I also use it for MLM prospecting on the internet. Immediately after someone subscribes to my list on one of my MLM CAPTURE PAGES, they are sent an email with the link to a free MLM e-book in it. So the first thing they are exposed to is a very high quality presentation on why network marketing makes so much sense.

From that point on, they are typically already sold on the MLM business model, and it is then a simple manner of explaining our MLM system and our company to them. This is a MLM system that is simple to set up and makes it easy to generate MLM leads!

So once again - I highly recommend finding good tools and then leverage the tools to do the explaining for you.

If you are just getting started building your MLM home business on the internet, you are probably on a budget. Let's face it, between your monthly autoship expenses, and the MLM recruiting tools your upline told you would practically recruit for you - you have probably been spending more than you are making in your MLM business.

3. Blog everyday, or every other if possible. This will not bring traffic immediately, but over time can become a huge source of traffic and highly targeted MLM leads. From my experience it will really start to kick in once you have around 50 posts or so in your blog. I try to keep my blog posts generic and teach people something of value. Or you can set up a blog just about your MLM company. Post company news, and events which will help you get ranked high for your MLM opportunity.

Just using these three simple techniques, will cost you just dollars a month, but allow you generate a substantial income both from your primaryMLM business, and outside it using the funded proposal system.

A friend that I have been mentoring for a couple of months in my business called me up the other day and asked this question:

"Hey Ian - This MLM company I looked at has this replicated website that enrolls people automatically in your downline. What do you think?"

Honestly my friend was just one of many people that have asked me that same question. And my answer is always the same.

Run, don't walk or jog, run as fast as you can in the opposite direction!

There is a reason that we call this business "Network Marketing". It is all about building a network of distributors that both consume and sell the products that we market. It is about building relationships and working together to build a successful business as a team.

These "replicated self building" sites are nothing but scams designed to take your money. For instance how exactly are these downlines built? Who generates the traffic? Who does the training? It still comes down to you working on your business.

The other problem with these replicated sites, is that they will never stand a chance of generating any real search engine traffic. You see they all have the exact same content - the search engines look at this as duplicate content and it will be filtered out as quick as it is indexed.

Before you run off to join one of these "self building" opportunities, I would really like you to think about building your business the right way. Your time would be much better spent on these two things:

Get your own MLM lead capture pages and generate your own MLM leads.

Get your own MLM Blog to start branding yourself - "Brand You!"

If you spend your time and money on just these two simple pieces of the puzzle - you will be rewarded for many years to come! Prospects will be calling you up with credit card in hand to join you in your business. How does that sound?
