Let's Generate Leads!

When you first get involved in a new Business Opportunity, Direct Sales, and or Network Marketing, you're given a list of "go do's" that are designed to help you generate leads and build your business. While I completely understand the concept behind the "list", I also see the frustration in the outcome when we don't have success and can't generate leads. This "go do" list is an important part of building your business and should be completed, to some degree, with vigor and enthusiasm. After all, you have a great opportunity and you need to generate leads, why shouldn't you be excited and enthusiastic? We should make every effort to share our new business with vigor and expectation, both on the local level and online. That's one of the ways we generate leads for the long term business partner or customer. Below is a partial list of items we are often sent to do in order to generate leads, when we begin our business:

• We are to make a list of warm market contacts-preferably 100 or more individuals or businesses that we can, and should touch bases with to share our opportunity
  
  
• Another concept is to speak with anyone who comes within three feet of us. That's the "three foot rule". The idea is that when someone gets within talking distance, we are supposed to strike up a conversation and share our opportunity. This is definitely, easier said than done for many of us.
  
  
• Yet another idea is to have a list of individuals or businesses that we are to "cold call" and share our opportunity with. These individuals are usually caught unaware and are not open to hearing our ideas or our business venture, no matter how good the opportunity is or how eloquent we speak.
  
  
• Another suggestion is that we purchase leads. Many of us have done this, me included. There have been times when this has been a good and valuable "roll of the dice" and other times when you feel like you just "flushed" your hard earned money right down the toitie. These leads are often ineffective because they've been contacted so many times that they frankly, are burnt out.
  
  
• How about making up flyers and dropping them on individual windshields, lunch tables, bulletin boards, etc. Another good idea, but extremely limiting. It's also quite costly and has very little impact on your public.

This is just a partial list of ideas and techniques to generate leads, and let me reiterate there is nothing wrong with fulfilling these tasks and checking them off your list. It's a beginning and you have to start somewhere. What I'd like you to realize, however, is that no matter how hard you work, how much sharing, selling, talking, calling, flyering, etc., you do; you will eventually run out of a warm market, money and time, to generate leads. This is where you say...now what? How am I supposed to generate leads for my business opportunity?

Before you throw in the towel and give up, let me throw you a life preserver. I've been where you are and I've talked to others that have been and done much more to generate leads than I, so please hear me out when I say, I understand and there is another method that will work for you. You will be able to generate leads and find success so stay with me!

This too, was information I wish I had had before I worked so hard to build my business and generate leads using the old methods and techniques in Network Marketing. I listened to the video and read the report...again...incredible tools to help you succeed in your Direct Sales/Network Marketing business. The insight in this material is worth it's weight in gold. As the puzzle comes together your ability to generate leads will grow.

One of the most profound things I read both here, in 7 Great Lies and in New Conceptual Selling was this:

When It Comes To Selling (And Therefore Network Marketing), Far Too Much Attention Is Paid To The Product And Far Too Little Attention Is Paid To The Person Doing The Buying!

Read that again slowly, digest it, what are they saying? When we begin to generate leads, we need to think and care about the needs of our customers/partners far before we care about whether they buy what we are selling or partner with us in our opportunity. This is what Attraction Marketing is all about. It's not about us! It's not about our product, our opportunity, or our success. It's about theirs, our potential customers and partners, and how we can get them from A to B, so that their goals are met. Remember when we generate leads, these are people looking for a business partner, they want someone that cares about them!

From this point, in my journey to generate leads and gather information, I was offered the opportunity to take a closer look at what was available to me for training. • If you want to generate leads you need to figure out who you're speaking to; who is the "target market" you're addressing and answer their concerns and needs. Speak to them and they will want to hear what you have to say. This piece of critical information is covered in depth as you work your way through the Renegade University tutorials.
  


• Look for outlets on the internet that will give you an opportunity to share with others. Our customers and potential partners don't know us, don't trust us, and don't really like us. How do we help them get to know us if they can't find us out there? Look at places like Facebook, MySpace, Digg, Twitter, etc. There are many more, but these are a few to begin introducing yourself.
