A video primer of human genetics

This lens is intended to help your understand human genetics. It's a straightforward introduction using easy animations. You don't need to be a scientist or doctor to understand this.

Some of my other lenses cover more advanced genetics, such as some genetical adnormalities, and this lens will give you the basis grounding and knowldge you need to understand those lenses.

Genetics 101 - Animation

(Part 2)

In the second video learn how one person's genes become individual and different to other people. 99.5% of your genes are the same as mine, but 0.5%, or 1 in every 200 genes, are different. This part of the video sequence eplains how this can happen.

Read More - Genetics for Dummies

If you have found the vidieos interesting and would like to know more, a basic book is a good place to start. Until you know more I'd ve careful and avoid any books for students or doctors - they can be too hard to follow until you have grasped the basics. You should be able to pick this one up cheaply second hand because so many copies have been sold.
