A beautiful poem by Unknown:

Beatitudes of a Family Genealogist

Blessed are the great-grandmothers, who hoarded
newspaper clippings and old letters,
For they tell the story of their time.

Blessed are all grandfathers who filed every legal
document,
For this provides proof.

Blessed are grandmothers who preserved family Bibles
and diaries,
For this is our heritage.

Blessed are fathers who elect officials that answer
letters of inquiry,
For some, they are the only link to the past.

Blessed are mothers who relate family traditions and
legends to the family,
For one of her children will surely remember.

Blessed are the relatives who fill in family sheets with
extra data,
For them we owe the family history.

Blessed is any family whose members strive for the
preservation of records,
For theirs is a labour of love.

Blessed are the children who will never say, "Grandma,
you have told that old story twice today.

Phillip was born ca 1760 in North Carolina probably Edgecombe Co. North Carolina. He died in 1828 in Columbus co., N. C. There is no record about her but Phillip's wife must be buried with him.
Thhe first reference to Phillip Faulk is his witnessing a deed in Bladen Co. now Columbus Co. of a land transaction in 1784 of Richard Faulk so they must have been brothers. In 1801 he purchased land south of Seven Creeks and Waccamaw River known as Swamp House plantation. He is suppose to be a be a revolutionary war soldier and a Phillip Faulk is listed in N. C. TrRecords Vol. XI p. 48, folio 2.
In October 1981 CBS visited the area and found it above most flooding. The area is being farmed by the Long family whose ancestors bought it from the Phillip Faulk estate.
Phillip Faulk Sr. had at least ten children and his descendents live in the south & west.

I know that my grandfather was born Jan 20. 1902 I believe. His name was Joseph Bruce Faulk and he had 2 brothers and a sister. I think it was Travis, Troy,Vera and Himself. His family and he moved to Hawkins, Tx when my grandfather was just a boy. My Grandfather JB had 2 sons. My father was one but was actually adopted by JB Faulk when he was a boy, but JB did have a biological son named Phillip Faulk born in January 1957. JB married my grandmother Mattie V. Mackenzie in the early 1950's. That is about all of the information I have. I would love to know more if you have it.
