My goals for the coming year

I am not generally one to write out goals or announce my resolutions to the world. I hadn't really put any thought into goals or plans for 2011 when a new Squidoo Quest popped up, asking me to create a lens outlining my top five goals for 2011.

I love quests and so I'm using this lens to gather my thoughts into a list of my goals for 2011. Perhaps this is a good exercise and a positive habit to get into.

My Top Five Goals for 2011

Goal #1 - Get Organized

Get OrganizedI am quite possibly the most disorganized person in the world. I'm quite ADD, although never diagnosed, and the queen of starting new projects.

My first goal for 2011 is to find a way to organize my life, so that I can make better use of my time, and focus a bit, rather than bouncing around to many different unfinished projects.

I also need to work on my physical organization. I'm blessed to have a very organized husband, so my entire home is not in disarray, but my desk is my domain, and it is a disaster! I'd love to get that under control and find a way to better manage the clutter that always accumulates there.

Goal #2 - Get Fit

I am physically disabled due to many years of Rheumatoid Arthritis. It's a very painful disease and it's far too easy to crawl into a ball and hide. Unfortunately, it's the worst thing for the disease.

I benefit greatly from physical activity and it's important that I do my best to live a fit and healthy life. I do pretty well with the diet part, as I love cooking healthy food for my family, but the challenge is in keeping myself mobile, despite the pain.

Goal #3 - Squidoo Goals

Squidoo GoalsI actually have three Squidoo goals for 2011.

1 - Serve as a Squidoo Angel. I am serving as an angel right now, for January 2011!

2 - Join the Giant 100s. I already have 100 lenses, but I have work to do to get them in shape.

3 - Keep up with lens maintenance. My lenses tend to get dusty when I'm sick.

Goal #4 - Home Goal

My husband and I have been working on home improvements forever, it seems. Such is the life of a homeowner. We live in a small, old bungalow on the beach and it's always in need of some type of work. This year we plan to remodel the bathroom to make it safer and easier for me to get in and out of the bath with my physical difficulties. I have a lot of other dreams for re-painting and new window treatments, but the bathroom is my number one priority this year.

Goal #5 - Family Goal

Family GoalsOur family has not gone on a family vacation together since 2001 and it's overdue. The children are no longer children and before we know it, they will be too busy with their own families to travel with us. This summer, my husband's large, Greek family is planning a family reunion in another state and we are really looking forward to going with both of the kids.

    Great to see that you've set yourself some goals for 2011. I think it will help you greatly as you've made a commitment publicly. Also, there are many of us who have done the same, so it will be good to stay connected so we can encourage each other during the year.
