Full of Shakes and Shimmies
Gentlemen Prefer Blondes is the story of two cabaret showgirls looking for love and marriage. There's the beautiful blonde Loralie who adores diamonds and the men who can buy them for her. She in love with Gus who comes from a rich family. He wants to marry her but his father won't allow him.
Then there's Dorothy, a no-nonsense kind of girl who always seems to fall in love with good looking men who can't support themselves let alone a wife.
When Gus backs out of a trip to Paris (because of his father) with Loralie she decides to take Dorothy and go without him. Little do the girls know is that daddy has sent along a private investigator to take photos of Loralie in compromising positions to prove she's nothing more than a gold digger.
Luckily for the girls the private dick wasn't expecting his heart to form an attachment to Loralie's best friend who is also loyal to a fault.
The girls take on Paris, an Olympic team, a diamond mogel, a judge and more... It is full of memorable musical numbers like Bye Bye Baby, A Little Girl from Little Rock; and of course, Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend.
This movie was based on a novel/musical by Anita Loos.
"I just love finding new places to wear diamonds."

This film spotlights two of Hollywood's most beautiful women the fifties had to offer.
I love this movie because of the chemistry Russell and Monroe had with one another and with the screen. There are beautiful costumes and the fun musical numbers like "Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend" are well choreographed.
It's a fun movie that never gets old.

Go ahead, disagree. I dare you.
Did you know that only 2% of the population is actually a natural blonde? I think blondes are fabulous, natural or otherwise but I guess I'm a bit biased since I fall into the 2%. There's nothing wrong with brunettes. I think there is something mysterious about them. I've always wanted to be one. What about you...

August 5, 1962), born Norma Jeane Mortenson, but baptized Norma Jeane Baker, was an American actress, singer, and model.
After spending much of her childhood in foster homes, Monroe began a career as a model, which led to a film contract in 1946. Her early roles were minor, but her performances in The Asphalt Jungle and All About Eve (both 1950) were well received. She was praised for her comedic ability in such films as Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, How to Marry a Millionaire, Some Like It Hot and The Seven Year Itch, and became one of Hollywood's most popular and glamorous performers.
The typecasting of Monroe's "dumb blonde" persona limited her career prospects, so she broadened her range. She studied at the Actors Studio and form...

"Discovered at 18 by Howard Hughes and promoted by her debut in The Outlaw , Russell has long been a symbol of earthy sex appeal and Hollywood glamour. Here, she reveals a more complex character, grounded in a sensible pragmatism and strong belief in God. In spite of initially powerful backing, her career has been uneven, while her private life has been equally turbulent. She recounts both her triumphs and her mistakes honestly and with no apology. Although her approach to religion and her "messages'' from God may surprise some readers, the straightforward, open statement of her beliefs will appeal to many."
"A diamond tiara lasts forever."

"I suppose two heads are better than one."
