A Way to Find People who Geocache

We started Geocaching a couple summers ago, and are ready to get started again after a break. The weather has been perfect if you don't like snow, and spring is here, so everyone will be heading outdoors more than usual.

The picture is of my honey and my Geocaching buddy, my husband. We haven't geocached very recently because of some health issues, but will be back at it again real soon....you can find out more about our Geocaching adventures on Geocaching - Fun at Any Age.

One way to find fellow-geocachers is through Twitter as well as Facebook. I am using the tools provided by Squidoo to see what "Geocaching Tweeters" are saying on Twitter. There is usually always someone talking about Geocaching on Twitter and Facebook.

Purchased the Magellan Explorist GC GPS

Used only for Geocaching

We already have a GPS that has served us pretty well, but wanted a paperless GPS, and since we already have one that can be used for hiking, biking, etc., I decided to purchase the Magellan eXplorist GC which is devoted to geocaching only.

It arrived a couple of weeks ago as I update this in early April, 2012, and it is so very easy to use. I read reviews, the biggest concern for me was the fact that some claimed the text size was small, and showed pictures of how small it is as compared to a DeLorme GPS, for example. When it arrived and I turned it on, I was okay with the text size even though I am an "older" user who wears glasses. We still have to test it out in the sunlight, but I don't expect it to be a problem.

We'll be taking it with us when we go away this Easter weekend, which is also our 33rd wedding anniversary weekend, and have it loaded with caches (it was so easy!) in the location where we are traveling. By the way, you get a certificate for a month free of geocaching.com's premium services with the unit. After the month is up, we'll renew again, the extras make it worth it.
