Famous George Best quotes
I've stopped drinking, but only while I'm asleep.
I was in for 10 hours and had 40 pints - beating my previous record by 20 minutes (on a blood transfusion for his liver transplant, not on his Drinking)
Robert Redford used to be such a handsome man and now look at him: everything has dropped, expanded and turned a funny colour.
He cannot kick with his left foot, he cannot head a ball, he cannot tackle and he doesn't score many goals. Apart from that he's all right (his assesment of Manchester United's David Beckham)
I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.
I'd have to be superman to do some of the things I'm supposed to have done, I've been at six different places at six different times.
I'm OK. Much better than on other occasions. It's true that I've made lots of mistakes but I've never tried to bother anyone. I want to stay alive, preferably in peace, without seeing every one of my mistakes in the papers, and on many occasions, even stories that are lies
That's what children do - throw food. That's not fighting. We were real men. We'd have chinned them
In 1969 I gave up women and alcohol - it was the worst 20 minutes of my life.

- Very nice tribute lens, 5*****. Well I was always a Spurs fan, so my heroes were Jimmy Greaves, Allan Gilzean and Pat Jennings. George was a highly talented player, almost certainly the best of his day.

- A wonderful player, when he got the ball you held your breath wondering what he'd do next. I like to remember him as he was in his prime I've got his autograph!
Great 5* lens

- As a Manchester United fan I can really appreciate this lens. Best was truly one of the greats in world football. I remember him when he first arrived at Old Trafford. He actually stayed in someone`s home in Chorlton, Manchester, until he`d settled in to life in Manchester, and got very rich. A pity he self-destructed through fame.
