Pretty Boy DJ or Complete Clown?

George Lamb,Pretty Boy DJ, has now settled into his new daytime show. After haunting the airwaves and attempting to entertain the post-pub listeners he appears no brighter or more coherent in daylight!

Maybe  now it will be obvious  to the executives of  6 Music that this man has absolutely no talent as a DJ, very little knowledge of anything and the ability to make even David Beckham sound coherent and intelligible.

No longer can I cope with listening to this poor excuse of a disc jockey ruin the usually good output of 6music. Here I will take my stand and  you are invited to post your opinions and views below.

The controller justified Lamb's recruitment in now-familiar terms of "accessibility" and "interactivity". "George is getting a lot more listener response for his show," she offered brightly. A brief dip into Lamb's show for as long as I could bear retrieved the following examples of "listener response": "We're gonna laminate our livers tonight and throw some frozen midgets around." Right. "Can we have a big Shabba for all the guys at Gnome World." Oh-kay. "Shabba-dabba-ding-dong!" spake the Lamb in reply, making sense to no one but himself, his posse, and all the guys at Gnome World.

However listeners have pointed out that texting the word 'Shabba' (George Lamb's catch phrase) does NOT reflect a quality music programme, and that producers should increase the number of songs broadcast during the show and lesson the inane chatter if they wish to broadcast a show that fits the station's remit.


The first text e mail protest will be on Monday 3rd March @ 11am with 'Hang the DJ' by The Smiths humorously chosen as the source of lyrics.

My Personal opinion is that a month is too long and this should happen every week!

    You have provided a great demonstration of the intellectual and literary abilities of the average George Lamb fan.
    As for Galileo and his 'listener lead programming', the type of listener attracted and amused by Lamb isn't the sort of person likely to listen to many other 6music shows.
    In fact most of the day time weekday 6music output is pretty poor and seems they are trying to compete with radio1.
    Barry Wang, Charlie Murphy, etc must be either drug references or his imaginary friends!

    Well, on my behalf of opinion think he's not that bad.
    maybe it's just your bad taste of presenters. I also watch BBLB and I think he's really good on that show, and I don't think you should judge as harshly as you have, I think he is a kind innocent gentlemen who deserves some respect!
    You might not be on team Lamb, but I'm number one on that subject.

    I am a massive fan of Georges show. After being exposed to the horrors of daytime Radio 1 by my former colleagues I actually felt very depressed and irritated by both the music and it's "yoof-culture" presenters. I started looking for other stations to keep me entertained during office hours and when I first found Georges show on 6music, I was intially put off by all the noise and in-jokes that I didn't get. However, after a day or so, I found myself really looking forward to his show and now, almost a year later, its a massive part of my day. I'm a web designer, so it's an absolute pleasure to work with him and his crew on the radio, constantly making me smile. The shows main objective I feel, is to keep people smiling and thats just what it does. It's a very listener-led programme and the presenters often expand upon something mentioned by a listener, encouraging others to share their stories. The other big attraction for the show are the contributers, such as Mr. Eken. Love it!

    The sad thing was he actually seemed alright whenever he had the dream ticket slot. Perhaps it was because he had to keep his mouth shut and do as he was told. Now, it seems he can get away with doing anything. From the stupid wankers who phone in to get "their own show" and consistently boost his already massive ego by rating his show, to the whoops and cheers of his co-hosts for no apparent reason. All they do is slag off chavs and people from estates but it seems to me thats the sort of listener they are attracting. I would probably boycott from listening to 6music all together but its the only decent radio station out there. Hopefully if everyone stops listening to the station between 10 and 1 it might make a difference.

    who ever it is that's composing all these anti george websites is total twat with tooo much time on their hands......its probably some fat asshole who just doesn't get it! The show is funny, light hearted and simply a pleasure to wake up to and i do believe they're getting double if not more listeners. Plus george is incredibly smart and good looking....what a bonus x

    he's nothing like moyles, moyles is just a gobshite he maxed out his brain when he thought of the name for dave: comedy dave!! lambo is a smart, witty, character, and he is able to take the piss out of himself as well as his mates. get anyone off 6music then nermone she's so fake. what u hear from george is real no lies no fake smiles and yeah if he don't know something he will say so.... and then laugh at himself. all ya'll having a go at him probably have broomhandles stuck up ur ass. and you probably wore gola trainers at school! so check yourself!

    here's the thing about george lamb - he just doesn't fit the 'music-first' remit of 6music. go listen to him interviewing bands in the hub... excruciating. or ask why he plays so little music compared to every other dj on the station.
    i've nothing against him personally - but i hate his style of radio show and so i do turn him off. the underlying issue here is that many of us who've been long-time listeners to 6music suspect that there's a not-particularly-subtle repositioning of the station going on with lesley douglas reinventing it as a sort of testing ground for djs she has ear-marked for a future slot on radio2.
    and there's precious little coming back from her or the beeb to counter that suspicion.

    dirtyden? it's spelt 'effects' you little dickweed. Keep George Lamb in. Only DJ on the station i've heard slag off the strokes as well, so they must be onto a winner.

    The protests to bombard George's show with witty song titles to show the antipathy towards him is just so hilarious - "Hang the Dj" by the Smiths. What wit!

    How about "Your only happy when it rains" by Garbage, you wafty, humourless jobsworths ;)
