Carol Of the Bells Music - sheet music, score, notes and chords
Carol of the bells sheet music and score by American Pianist George Winston. George Winston was born in 1949 and his piano music uses the New Age genre as a vehicle for his original compositions. Much of his piano music is reflective and has folk roots. George Winston's piano scores evoke the natural beauty of nature and the surrounding landscape.
It was American primitive guitarist John Fahey that recognised George Winston's talent and originality. George Winston's first album Ballad and Blues was recorded on John Fahey's own record label, Takoma records.
We live in an age of thumping rock music, blaring TV adverts and cartoons. With the hectic pace of working and family life it's not easy to find moments of peace and tranquility. We all need moments of reflection to see where we've been and where we're going to. Our bodies and brains need moments of calm and rejuvenation.
What better way than to switch off and switch on to some gentle relaxing piano music. Yes we could listen to the great piano music of Beethoven etc., but Classical music is full of many moods and dynamics. Winston's music on the whole though not technically as advanced as Beethoven nevertheles succeeds on a different level.
If you've never given this piano music a listen before try and hear it through different ears and take some time out and relax - it might do you a world of good.

George Winston was discovered by John Fahey
Guitarist to Pianist
It was American primitive guitarist John Fahey that first recognised George Winston's talent and originality. George Winston's first album Ballad and Blues was recorded on John Fahey's own record label, Takoma records. John Fahey's music had been a big influence on George Winston. It was in trying to copy Fahey's fingerstyle guitar on the piano that George Winston discovered an unique sound for himself.

The Music Of the Doors
George Winston does a tribute to the Doors on this album. Its a brave experiment which doesn't always quite come off. It's not an easy task to take the music of such a great Rock Band and interpret their raw energy music with just a solo piano. However George cites the Doors as a big influence on his music. After all the keyboard player of the Doors Ray Manzarek definitely brought a classical touch and quality to the music of the Doors. Not everybody's cup of tea but there are some great reviews on Amazon. By the way you've got to like the music of the Doors as well. Recorded 2002.

- George Winston's performances are indeed fantastic, thank you for sharing the videos. I especially enjoyed "Thanksgiving". And your Peanuts video is well done, bravo! I too love the lively music of Mr. Guaraldi. Love and blessings, Daniel Kobialka
