I stated on 9/19/2011 for the first time P90X and Insanity. Yes, you read right I am doing a hybrid program. As you can see I am not what you call in shape. Actually, on all scales from the BMI to the weight scale I'm technically Obese (FAT). So, the goal is to start learning how to find out how to loose body fat to see abs and learn how to reduce fat content in body.
I'm recording all aspects of my journey by video and pictures from workouts to preparing food and the online tracking systems. If you Google weight loss you would get 266 million results, Get Ripped over 15 million results. But, when I went through these results I didn't come across to many people that actually went through the whole program video taping and taking pictures while writing uncensored and direct reviews. Right now my wife and I have P90X, Insanity, TurboFire and TurboJam. She will write articles on her experience with TurboFire and other programs she does.
Our goal is to do every Beachbody program and record our results (by video and pictures) and write a review article here in Get Body Ripped.

Why am I doing this?
Background about me.
In the last few years, I have been nervous about my weight and my health. I grew up in a family that used food as the main source of entertainment. My father knew so many restaurants that when someone asked him for directions, he would use the restaurant locations as the land marks. Sitting down to eat was the only time the whole family was completely together. Big announcements were made and disagreements were solved over meals. Then, my father passed away suddenly in the middle of the night from a major heart attack at age 56. Our family was changed forever.
Working in the internet space with tight deadlines, I am very sedentary, and I found myself snacking throughout the day. Often, I don' eat my first meal until dinner. By then, I'm so hungry that I don't feel like cooking. My wife and I end up eating out a lot. So, with the poor eating habits and nonexistent exercise, I quickly gained weight.
The bigger I got the more I became uncomfortable in my own skin. I started noticing little weird things. For example, the top of my pant would roll over and create a crease. Also, my side of the bed was getting deeper and deeper. Then the aches and pains started coming. My lower back, my heels (wow that hurt) and my joints were killing me. I would self prescribe Ibuprofen to help relieve the pain.
One day my wife started another diet and I went to weight myself and I was shocked. 285 lbs. The heaviest I have ever been and the same weight as my father when he passed away. Emotions and thoughts swept through me and I couldn't talk. I was overwhelmed with fear. I was afraid that I would die early like my dad. I was doing my best not to show it to my wife. I didn't want her to worry or see I was freaking out. I walked out of the room quickly and deflected her questions with jokes.
So needless to say, I had to do something right away. I put a plan together to do something major. This is a big game changer for me. I am just a regular guy who likes to sit on the couch and veg out.
Until now!

Day 1 of 90 to get fit
I'm a guy that loves his 55" HDTV, beer and pizza. My father passed away at age 56 from a major heart attack. It changed my life.
I have to CHANGE. I have made a decision to video tape myself each day to record my progress.
There is always a beginning to any success.
