Free PC Clue - Clue Classic Free Full Version Game

The background story to the classic PC Clue game
Mr Boddy is hosting a dinner party at his Tudor Mansion, and has invited 5 stylish and notable guests. The only other person at the house this evening, is his long serving cook. But, after the dinner, Mr Boddy's body is found dead! The aim is to solve the mystery of the murder at Boddy Mansion.

How to Play the Clue game
The mansion ground floor plan is the board layout, with 9 possible rooms in which the murder took place. Plus there are 6 possible weapons around the mansion which could have been used.

So with a process of elimination and evidence gathering, each player uses his or her sleuthing skills to discover who of the 6 people in the house done the crime, with which weapon and in which room (see the image on the right for the list of Clue rooms, suspects and weapons).

With hundreds of combinations this is a whodunit game you can play over again. And in the free full version Clue game you use the same set up and rules so it's just like the original board game!

When you start up your free PC Clue game, you get the front page, as shown in the image, right.

Click on the 'new game' button and you then get the choice of:
1. Which character you would like to be, it automatically chooses Miss Scarlet (which I think is most people's favorite character).
2. You also choose a minimum of 2 computer opponents, out of the remaining 5 Clue characters.
The 6 Clue characters are the same classic suspects from the original board game.

Then the board layout comes into view and the computer automatically selects 1 card each at random from the 9 room, 6 suspect and 6 weapon cards. These are then placed in the confidential envelope in the middle of the board. The rest of the cards shuffled and dealt out between the players. Your cards are laid out for you to see (see the screen shot below), and you then mark them off in your detective's notebook, visible on the right hand sidebar. As you can imagine, with the computer doing the work, the board set up is super quick, with no fuss or any chance of cheating!

When you play Clue, it is as you would play the Cluedo boardgame. So you take it in turns rolling the die, it even has the sound effect of them rolling onto the board. The computer automatically shows you which possible routes you can take, including which rooms you can get to.
You choose where you want to go, and if you end up in a room, you can make a suggestion. When you make a suggestion you are presented with the possible suspects and weapons, and when you pick your choice, they also appear spotlighted, in the middle of the screen, along with a funny sound effect. The room obviously will be the one you are already in.
Click on 'make a suggestion' button and then person to your left will show you a card, if not, the computer automatically asks the next person clockwise, just like playing the classic Clue boardgame. Then you mark your detective notebook accordingly.

Other features of this Clue game online include:
* You can type in additional notes; this is done by clicking on the notes boxes in your notebook, where you get taken to an old-fashioned typewriter, which again makes the sound effects as you type in your notes.
* Whenever you wish you can review all the previous suggestions and moves the players have done by viewing the 'history' tab in the right hand panel. This is one of the benefits of playing PC Clue game over the boardgame, as you don't have to worry about writing them all down.
* When you are in one of the 4 corner rooms, just like in the Clue boardgame, you have the option to roll the die or take the underground secret passages, say from the lounge to the conservatory. When you do this, you go through a creepy passage along with spooky sound effects and music!

There are also plenty of extras to this PC game:
* The opening and closing cut scenes are atmospheric, setting the scene for the murder and then re-enacting the murder at the end.
* The background music and sound effects are very good, again adding to the suspense! You can control the volumes of the music and sound effects, with the 'options' button on the front page.
* You can also choose a full screen view of the game, via the 'options' button.
* If you are in hurry or don't want to watch the computer players turns, you can speed them up by holding down the spacebar. Unlike in real-life Cluedo!
* You can save a game, and reload it later, resuming the game where you left off.
* The interface, including the sidebar history panel and notebook are well designed and easy to use.
* The game comes with a guide, Inspector Brown, who shows you how to start the game, and if you get stuck you can go to him via the 'help' button on the front page.
* The quicker and more often you win a game, the better your detective ranking becomes, so you can impress Inspector Brown with your sleuthing skills and get rewarded with a new rank and a badge! You can see which rank you are at by the 'achievements' button.
* And another great bonus is that if you decide you are in a position to make an accusation, if you are incorrect, you miss a go. Unlike in the real boardgame, where you have to look at the cards in the confidential envelope to see whether you were right or not, in the PC Clue game, the computer does that so you can have a guess, without risking being out of the game for too long. Just remember you still have to beat your opponents at guessing the right combo of cards, so you don't want to go making too many wrong accusations and missing too many turns.
