You have completed your website, you have designed it, filled it with content and now all that's left to do is to get it indexed so you can start receiving some traffic.

Many people believe that indexing can take weeks or even months. This is usually true for those who don't put any particular effort into having their site indexed, However if you're ready to put in some time and effort then please read on, as I explain how to get indexed in less than 24 hours.

1. The first step I take which is often overlooked is to actually add you URL to google. This basically puts you on their list of "sites to index", however you will not be made a priority unless you basically show your site is active and people are linking to it.


2. In this step I use a free service called Pingomatic this service tells a large number of sites and search engines that your site has updated it's content. Soon after you can expect to see these search engines and websites crawling your URL.


3. Step three involves social bookmarking. Submitting your URL to bookmarking services such as Digg and del.icio.us not only provides you with some free quality traffic, but will attract search engine spiders to your site rapidly. Just to be safe, I usually submit to about 10 different social bookmarking sites. As you can imagine this can be fairly time consuming, for this reason use SocialMarker, a free service which makes submission to social bookmarking sites a semi-automatic process.


4. The next thing to do is to create three Blogger blogs, Make sure that the subject (title of blog, URL, etc) of each blog is related to the site that you would like to get indexed, then make two short posts on each blog. Within each of these posts insert a link to your site. Then use Pingomatic once more to ping your new blog posts.

Though there is no absolute guarrantee of this method working it will increase the chance of getting indexed in under 24 hours immensely.
