Democratic Leadership Races to Get us Out of Iraq

At the first glimmer of good news coming out of Iraq regarding the 8 military benchmarks that are progressing according to plan, the Democrats call for an emergency "overnight session" to pass legislation to get us out of Iraq before any more progress is made. Completely undermining the Generals they put there to lead us in the effort to secure the country, and calling for a withdrawl 3 months before the final progress report due in Sep.

The Democrats are scared to death of ANY good news coming out of Iraq, they are completely invested in the defeat of our country, any success now would completely contradict what they have been pounding down our throats for years now "This Administrations Failed Policies!", "The war is a lost cause", "The surge is not the solution...however we don't have one" etc. etc.

The Democrats are telling us that the mid-term elections of 2006 represented a message from the voters to end the Iraq War. They were right in some ways, but the Democrats have made a big mistake and are mis-representing their voters.

The reason we are discontent with the war is because of the lack of progress. We want to see results and we are not getting them. The American People want a VICTORY politically and militarily, it is what we expect from the as the greatest nation in the world.

The far-left supporters have been pushing Democrats to get us out of Iraq for years now, and they want us out NOW...these far left wing voters only make up a small percentage of all voters, however led by George Soros they contribute millions to the Democratic Party. The Democrats in congress are projecting these far left views as the mainstream view, which is far from the truth

The major mis-conception is that the United States' discontent with the war means that we all want to get out of Iraq now and throw up a white flag. Since "George Bush has mis-managed the war" the only alternative is to get out now according to the congressional leadership. The only problem is that GET OUT NOW is not a solution and the American People do not want that, it is a sign of weakness on our be-half and makes our country appear weak.

The Democratic leadership of the Senate and House are racing to see which one can come up with legislation to get the United States out of Iraq first. They are doing this to please their major contributors who helped get them into power last November.

Getting out of Iraq and "washing our hands of it" hardly poses a solution to the greater problem which is global terrorism and our countries interests in the region (OIL - something that unfortunately would cripple our country if we we're without it).

Unfortunately the Democrats are not in the business of solutions right now, thats what George Bush is for...and no matter what his solution may be...theirs will be the EXACT OPPOSITE. The reason for this is posturing for the 2008 Presidential election.

The Democrats want to polarize themselves from Pres. Bush because it puts them in the best position for their parties nomination and eventually, in their opinon, the presidency.

Congressional approval rating is in the mid teens currently, which reflects the true position of the American People and their discontent with the lack of solutions and the poor performance of congress overall. They have spent so much time trying to unsuccessfully pass legislation to get out of Irag that nothing else is getting done.

We can't secure our borders, NOTHING has been done for improving our health care system, no progress on bio-fuel legislation, no changes regarding earmarks/pork in new bills. These are important issues and because they are so focused political posturing NOTHING is getting done. If congress was a corporation they would be out of business!
