"The Skinny" on Get Paid To Websites
This lens provides a detailed comparison and analysis of get-paid to sites like TreasureTrooper, CashCrate, and DealBarbiePays. In addition I will offer some tips and good offers to try for each of the above sites. But first lets start with a quick explanation of Get Paid To Sites. Basically, Get Paid to sites are websites that offer cash and prizes for signing up for survey sites, completing free trial offers, joining clubs, registering for credit cards, and many other affiliate based programs. These sites can offer you rewards, because they themselves are compensated from affiliate partners that host these programs. So the basic idea is you sign up for a program, the get paid to site gets paid by their affiliate partner, and then they turn around and credit your account with a portion of the earnings. Once you meet the minimum payment threshold you can request a cash payment.
But wait, that is not where it ends. Some Get Paid To sights also offer ongoing referral income for getting others to sign up under your referral link. TreasureTrooper and CashCrate offer a two-tier referral program, while DealBarbiePays offer you a three-tier program. What this means for you is that you can earn a percentage of both your direct referrals and your referral's referrals. While you can earn decent money just by simply completing offers, it is easy to see that more substantial earnings with these programs can come with getting good referrals. While there are many of these get paid to sites, TreasureTrooper, CashCrate and DealBarbiePays have proven track records and offer the most offers.
Another good get paid to site is Cash Lagoon, which has recently been profiled here. The good thing about them is that they also offer quick payment via PayPal, usually within 24 hour for balances greater than $2.
An honorable mention also goes to Gangster Greed, which although not profiled here, is also worth a look. Like Cash Lagoon they also offer payment via PayPal, but the unique thing about them is that they have an unlimited referral program where you can earn 25% of your referral's earnings, 25% of 25% (6.25%) of their referral's earnings, and so on.

CashCrate.com Information
CashCrate is a US based website that pays you to complete offers, take free offers, join survey panels, and shop online. They have a very successful record of paying their members, based on the comments in their forums. CashCrate does accept international members, but most of their offers are more geared to US, Canadian, and UK participants. CashCrate has recently launched a UK section that currently boasts 65 offers worth that are worth almost $200.CashCrate also has a pretty good bonus program that rewards you with points after completing offers. These points can be redeemed for prizes or gift certificates.In addition to having some excellent payouts for completing offers, CashCrate has an excellent referral program where you can earn 20% for first tier, 10% for second tier, and $3 for each active referral. CashCrate has a low $10 minimum for collecting earnings, and currently processes their payments on the 20th of the following month for the current month's earnings. CashCrate currently offers payment in the form of a check. Here is an example of a check that I received.

DealBarbiePays.com Information
DealBarbiePays, a US based get paid to site that was created in April 2006, has a very successful record of paying their members. They have paid out over $550,000 to their members, and currently have 956 get paid to offers. Unlike TreasureTrooper and CashCrate, DealBarbiePays only US residents that are at least 18 years of age. DealBarbiepays has a strict no-fraud policy and requires that all members go through an email and phone verification check. The site has an excellent support system which includes a support ticket system, as well as contact with the administrator via email, AIM, and Yahoo Messenger.Like the others, DealBarbiePays also pays you to complete offers, join free survey panels, and shop online. One of the advantages of DealBarbiePays is that they offer payment via check, PayPal, Amazon gift certificates, as well as a large selection of other merchant gift certificate options. Like TreasureTrooper, they have a minimum of $20 before you can collect earnings, and they currently pay on a Net20 basis. This means that members who meet the minimum payout of $20 by the last day of each month will have their payment sent out to them on the 20th of the next month. You can also earn money with the their three-tier referral system which is outlined in the comparison chart above. Like the others they also have a bonus program where you can earn points and "signs" which can also be redeemed for cash.

CashLagoon is a website that pays you to complete offers, try free offers, and take daily surveys. CashLagoon has an active user forum where members can read suggestions, learn more information, get information on daily contests, and see proof of payment from other members. You must be 18 years of age, or 13 years of age with parent approval to join. CashLagoon currently only accepts members from the US, Canada, and the UK, and like all the sites listed here, membership is free.You can earn money with CashLagoon in three ways: Complete Free offers, Get Referrals, and Partipate in Daily Contests. CashLagoon has a pretty decent referral program where you can earn 20% for first level referrals and 5% for second level referrals. You can redeem payment with a balance as little as $2 with paypal, and $5 for a check or PrePaid Visa Card. Cash Lagoon disburses payment for the previous month on or around the 20th of each month. Checks will require up to 10 days for delivery, while electronic payments are generally fulfilled within 24 hours. Here is an example of a PayPal payment that I received.

Treasure Trooper is a US based website that pays you to complete offers, take free offers, join survey panels, and shop online. TreasureTrooper has a proven record of paying their members and many examples can be seen in their forum. While most of Treasure Trooper's offers are limited to US, Canada, and the UK, membership is open to all countries. TreasureTrooper has a special UK section that currently offers over $500 worth of offers.TreasureTrooper also has a pretty cool bonus program that rewards you with virtual golden coins after completing offers. These golden coins can be used to buy prizes on the site. They also have a pretty active forum where you can get extra tips and see testimonials from other members that have earned money. Also they have a VIP area for members with lifetime earnings over $500. These members are entitled to extra perks like bonus golden coins and a VIP forum. So far it looks like a pretty decent way to make a little extra cash.
TreasureTrooper has a pretty decent referral program where you can earn 20% for first level referrals and 5% for second level referrals. You must reach $20 before you can recieve payment, and payments are processed on the 30th of every month for the previous month's earnings. Currently TreasureTrooper offers payment in the form of a check and PayPal for US and UK members. Here is an example of a check that I received.

From the results it is clear that both CashCrate and DealBarbiePays result in good referral results which would lead one to think that members are able to complete more offers at these sites. Plus they both offer bonus earnings for active referrals which also helps the bottom line.
Get Paid To Site Recommendations
- Get a Free PrivatePhone Account
Many of these programs require that you give your phone number as part of your contact information. A good way to free your actual phone line from receiving too many calls is to use a free service called PrivatePhone. They offer you a free phone number and voicemail, where all your incoming calls go directly to your personal voicemail account. - Get a Separate Email Account
While TreasureTrooper and CashCrate will not directly send you lots of ads and offers, many of the trial offers you signup for will. Having a secondary email account for these programs, will allow you to better keep track of your get paid to emails, and keep your primary email free from unwanted ads. Hotmail, Yahoo, and Google Mail are all good, free options. - Get an automatic Form Filler
When applying for these offers, you will have to contantly keep typing in your name, email, address, etc. An autoform filler can speed this up. Google toolbar includes a basic one, and Roboform has free version with a little more features.
My Get-Paid-To Site Tips
Again, if you are concerned with your privacy I would recommend signing up for my private phone and extra email account. Next you need to decide which Get Paid to Site or Sites you wish to join. The thing you must remember is that once you sign up for an offer at one site you cannot sign up for the same offer at another site. While there are ways to get around this, I do not recommend that you do so, and many of the sites will ban you if they detect fraudulent activity.If you are just looking for some casual income by trying some 100% free offers then I would recommend sticking with one or two programs. If you are willing to try some of the trial offers, you can easily reach the minimum payout levels by trying different offers with each of the get paid to sites. However, unless you have lots of time, I would still recommend with sticking to one or two programs, because the more you earn with any one particular program, the more chances you have at earning extra cash and prizes with their rewards programs.
If you have a blog, website, or just got a lot of friends and can get referrals than I would recommend joining more than one program. The reason being is that each site has its own special strengths.

Hi, jmm123! I've tried TreasureTrooper and CashCrate but I didn't get any payouts because I wasn't very diligent signing up for their offers. I've also tried several other pay-per-performance programs, some of which required a phone number. I agree that PrivatePhone is a great (and free!) way to get a virtual phone number and voicemail. I am a member off all the same sites you are, but I find that referrals are more apt to complete offers on Treasure Trooper than the other ones.
