What's Your Niche?

This is something I failed to do in the beginning - I didn't choose a niche. As a result I wrote on anything from hardwood flooring to koi ponds. While this paid the bills, I burnt out pretty fast.

Here are some tips that will help you find your niche:
  • What do you enjoy doing? Do you have any hobbies, special skills, or interests?
  • Think about your schooling. Do you have a degree? Have you taken classes or a certificate course?
  • Your free time. What do you in your free time? Chances are, you may be able to turn that into a niche.
  • What are your passions? One thing you can do is write about what you are most passionate about. As a bonus - being passionate will automatically make your writing better because you will be talking about something that you love.

Easy Writing Biz - A Review

I just came across an ebook called "Easy Writing Biz" which is all about how you can make money writing online articles and writing content.

After quickly browsing the sales letter, I was in danger of thinking the author was hyping up the idea of making a living online and not delivering on the hype.

I was pleasantly surprised, and very much relieved, when I realized this wasn't the case.

Instead, the author delivers a manual on how to start your online writing business by working for others. She stresses that you don't need experience. While this is true, it does help if you have writing skills.

The one thing I thought the book was lacking is on information on how to make money with a byline - by giving yourself credit for the articles. However, the content she does include is very helpful.

Make Money Writing Content - Websites to Get You Started ASAP

These are the sites that I use most often to help me get paid for writing online. When you write articles to submit at these sites, remember to choose a keyword and focus your article (in an interesting way) around that keyword.

For example, if you want to write an article about dog obedience tactics, your keyword would be "dog obedience tactics".
Associated Content
With this site, the more focused your keywords the better. Take a browse on the site to see how unique your idea is. The more original your article is, the more likely you will be to get your article accepted for payment.
Constant Content
You can make a pretty steady income on this site. How it works is you write an article and set the price and which rights you will give away. The secret to success at Constant Content is to have a lot of articles in the system.

I've used this site before. Honestly, I haven't made much yet. Just be sure not to click the "syndication" box. Leave it blank. And, the more articles you have, the better.

Set Your Timer to Build Speed

I can write 400 word keyword articles in under ten minutes. I know because I clocked myself. But I wasn't always that fast. I built up to it. My first article probably took an hour. The more I did it, the better I got. Follow these steps:

All you need to do is set the timer. If you just spent 45 minutes writing an article, set the timer for 40 minutes, Then, try to finish before the timer goes off. Each time you write an article, keep knocking time off. Pretty soon, you'll be shocked by how fast you are!
