Fortitude: The BEST Way to Get Paid for Articles
If you are tired of getting paid just a few dollars for articles you work hard on, or writing hundreds of mundane pieces for SEO purposes, it's time to come to something better. Fortitude is a website that pays you serious cash, between $10 and $100 per article, for writing about things you love. I don't want to get ahead of myself in this introduction box here, so read on to find out why Fortitude is absolutely, positively, the best way to get paid to write articles.
How Fortitude Works
Fortitude is unique in that it pays between $10 and $100 for articles, not a couple dollars like every other site. Because of this, you have real opportunity to make a substantial amount of money. And the best part is, you can write about literally ANYTHING you want (as long as it's not excessively obscene, or anything like that). Whether it's a story, poem, article, rant, guide, column, news analysis, or whatever else, you can make money with any of your works. You might be wondering how you can make so much money for writing about what you love. The foundation of Fortitude is a democratic review system in which people vote on entries, and the entries with the highest scores make it to the Front Page. If you make the Front Page, you are guaranteed at least $10, and if your article is the best for the day, you can make a lot more, closer to the $100 end. I've seen someone get over $80 for ONE article! Where else can you find such potential to make money? Nowhere.
However, notice that you have to make the Front Page to get paid. Articles that do not score high enough to get Front Page status are published on the internal pages of Fortitude. Although you don't get paid, you are free to re-use the article for another purpose if you wish, such as publishing it on your own website. You can't do that for articles you get paid for, because they become property of Fortitude. This component is necessary for the site to be sustainable, and is not all that taxing anyway. Also, if you think not getting paid for every article is a bad thing, think again. If Fortitude did this, they would not be able to pay high amounts for their Front Page articles. This is how it needs to work, and sites that have tried otherwise (and believe me, they have tried) have inevitably failed.
You might still be wondering, "How can Fortitude afford to pay so much for articles? Where does their revenue come from?" That was actually one of the first things I thought when I read the premise of Fortitude, but like all my objections, they were elegantly melted away by the brilliant FAQ page. Every objection I initially had was intelligently explained on there. As for how Fortitude makes money, there are many ways. First, they re-sell their Front Page articles for more than they buy them, because there is always demand in the marketplace for this kind of really high-quality content. Second, once Fortitude becomes more popular, they can make draw a lot of revenue from advertisements. Third, they charge $23.99 a year to be a member, so they get money from that too.
"Whoah, you didn't say anything about a membership fee!" Once again, there's a reason for everything on Fortitude. In addition to getting a little more revenue to work with (so they can pay writers more!), the fee keeps bad writers out, because if you're not a good writer, why would you pay money to join a writing site? But if it was free, a lot of people would try their hand, and the review system would get clogged up with bad articles. The fee also maintains a stronger, tight-knit community, and keeps growth from spiraling out of control. I am VERY happy there was a fee to pay, because it makes the site more exclusive. In fact, if there was no fee, I don't know if I would have joined.
Plus, that's nothing when you consider how easy it is to make your money back. In fact, I made it back (and more) in the first week of membership. And you have a whole year to make it work!
How to Make Money from Fortitude
I want you to be successful with this website, because I truly believe in it (which I will explain further in the next module). First of all, realize there are many ways to make money from Fortitude. The first and most obvious way is by writing articles. If you can write flowing, quality, meaningful articles, you are virtually guaranteed to eventually make money from Fortitude. And if you happen to crank out a masterpiece one night and get the top score, you can make $50-$100 in one pop, and that doesn't even include other articles you submit. Pretty exciting, right? In addition, you can make a ton from affiliate commission. For the first nine users you refer, you get $12, and thereafter, you get $16 per referral. That can add up really quickly, and since Fortitude has such an appealing concept, it is easy to convert for. To illustrate this point, I managed to get two of my friends to sign up for Fortitude just by explaining the premise, and I didn't even need to go into the further benefits of it. When was the last time you got to pitch something that sold itself? It really feels good, especially when you are used to expending all your energy trying to feebly get people to purchase a product or service.
It doesn't stop there. You also get a $1 every time your referral gets published on the Front Page. This is for life, so if you can just manage to get ten to twenty good referrals, you will make decent referral commission for a long time (and that doesn't even count the initial payday you will experience from getting them to sign up in the first place).
Finally, you get $0.02 for every time you vote on someone else's piece. Remember, Fortitude is all based on voting, and there needs to be some incentive for users to do it. This is pittance compared to the other ways you can make money, but it is a nice little bonus, and it's fun and informative to read what other people are writing about. It's actually enlightening to read others' pieces, because they are specifically written for humans, not search engines or robots. So you can see, there is a huge amount of potential to profit from Fortitude, and I suggest you take advantage of it as soon as possible.
The Human Element of Fortitude
What Makes Fortitude Truly Amazing
I came to Fortitude to make money from my articles, but I soon came to realize, this site is so much more. The CEO of Fortitude, Nick Oba, really has the right idea and vision when it comes to implementing this. When I first made my initial inspection of Fortitude, I thought, "Wow, this is going to make people create some really good articles, because with the possibility of making so much, people will put a lot of effort into what they write." I wondered if the administrator had thought about this, and then, I read his introductory note about the Power of Passion. Nick put into words exactly what I was thinking, and that's when I realized Fortitude was something almost divine. As Nick talks about, the Internet is filled with pointless articles written for SEO purposes, or just for a few quick bucks. There is little passion or love in the aforementioned articles, and nobody really writes them with the intention of being read. I know, because I was and still am a pawn in that system. But Fortitude gives me a place where I can write about what I really love, not what I need to write about for business purposes. And the fact that you can actually make good money from doing this is simply astounding. I LOVE it!
Even more than writing my own articles, I really enjoy reading others. Because they are written with passion, they are actually interesting to read. In fact, I read one article about the benefits of working out in the morning, and it convinced me to take that course of action. How many things do you read online that actually change your lifestyle? Very few, if any.
Keep in mind what Fortitude means. Fortitude is defined by Princeton as "strength of mind that enables one to endure adversity with courage." That's a good definition, but I have my own. To me, Fortitude means having the guts to never give up, no matter what you may face. That's what this website is: A place to share literally any passion you have, and show your power to others. This is true strength. This is Fortitude.

- Qondio is more for link building than revenue. So even though you didn't make much money (although apparently you did a good amount at first), the benefit to your sites was probably significant.
