Get That Project Done Day

IT'S INTERNATIONAL Get That Project Done Day

This is a celebration of the day that all people with broken down cars, bikes, half knitted jumpers, unfinished pictures, decorating, plastering, wiring etc start to actually get on with doing and finishing their project rather than talk about it.

We have all seen it, the old cars in the drives to be "done up", the bike frames that are "going to be brilliant" when finished, the promised jumper, the half finished decorating even the superb dinner that just never came to pass.

Well on February the 29th It is "NATIONAL GET THAT PROJECT DONE DAY" a world wide celebration that only comes round every 4 years so, don't get put in the dog house you have time to

CRACK ON AND GET IT DONE

YOU ARE NOT ALONE IN YOUR UNFINISHED PROJECTS

There are many out there, Waiting For Your To Join Them In This Celebration

Unfinished workGet That Project Done Day goes back to time immemorial. From the cave man with a lub (half log, half hitty stick or unfinished club) right through the ages to, well, you. Look at Gaudi's unfinished Cathederal Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família, he started that in 1882, now come on that's just lazy, fancy starting a Cathederal and leaving it, it's not as if no-one will notice! Franz Schubert's Symphony No. 8 in B minor, unfinished symphony . . . WHAT WAS HE THINKING? Why publish the fact that you were too busy sorting out your sock drawer. Why did he tell people about it? Mark Twain's The Mysterious Stranger once again, unfinished. These were talented people! Just like us . . . . yes You and I. So it is time, my people of the unfinished project types, to gather together. Unite in our vision to get down and finish those unfinished things that were started over 5 years ago or for some out there it may be more, it may be less. We know who we are, and we know the time is upon us to either make or, well, not break as most of the stuff already is so lets say, make or get rid of.

Have You A Car Under Cover

Car or scrap . . . it's up to you

Well we say car but what we actually mean is a heap of "used to be a car" under a tarpaullin. Are your family/neighbours/local council giving you grief over it's very existence?

Hey, don't stress come here (puts comforting arm round shoulder). I know, I know you "meant" to get it started, you "wanted" to have a a go but life got in the way or . . . excuses as we like to call it! Do not worry my compadre you have a choice you either join us in our Olympiad celebration or make a few bucks and sell it to the local scrap yard.

We have all seen the guys and girls on the TV that have had a ton of rust that they have miraculously turned into a driving palace for the gods, but, they had time and more to the point, the inclination and (pun coming) drive (snick, snick, snick) to get it done. Also some of them had Pimp My Ride to help! Trust me no one will be annoyed if you get rid of the heap . . . sorry "future investment" but if you don't, you now know the day is drawing closer to Get That Project Done Day.

Old Scrap Cars Do Not Look Good!

Sell it, scrap it or celebrate with us and . . .

GET THAT PROJECT DONE . .WE HAVE FAITH IN YOU!

YOUR PROJECT CAN BE DONE

Even if you have to call in a little help

The great thing about the world we live in is we have a huge resource of information to help us find help videos on YouTube to Googling How To's on any subject quite literally known to man.

Even though the vid here is just to show you what IS and CAN be done, there is a wealth of info out there from wiring a plug to fitting new shock absorbers on a Land Rover (trust me on that one)

GET YOUR PROJECT DONE . .

I have only briefly skimmed the surface of projects that could need doing. What is your project going to be? Mine is project ironing, it has only been 2 weeks but it is annoying the heck out of me!

Who's is the project? What is it? How long ago was it meant to be/promised to be completed?

My partner he/she has said they started their project to [fill in blank] over [fill in blank] years/months ago

Me, I am going to be one with you Cathi and Join This Truly monumental celebration and finish my [fill in blank] project.

YOUR HOUSE, YOUR HOME, YOUR CASTLE

NOT . . Your Construction Site!

On this wonderful fun filled day of celebration imagine all the brownie points, the cups of tea/coffee the cudos you will get to at least making a major start on your project! No more the plaster dust from the unfinished wall. No more the chasing children from the burny ouch pipework that you have not boxed in or the flooring the dog keeps cutting its paws on. You will be King/Queen of your home. Those jobs the nay sayers said you would never do, will be complete and you will rule the roost! Go my friends, get your hardware, manuals and . . stuff and get your project done.

GET HELP! TO GET IT DONE!

It's NOT artistic

It's an . . UNFINISHED PROJECT

Will This Man EVER Get That Project Done?

In my humble opinion if your project is THIS big it is time to hold your hands up and say

HELP ME PLEASE, SOMEONE, ANYONE!

Remove The Shackles and Get Rid of The Iron (ing)

Ladies and gentleman it is time to go to the spare room/cupboard/laundry pile and ready yourself for Get That Project Done Day's ironing. I understand how boring this job is, but put on your favourite radio programme/telly station/DVD and set forth to get rid of the pile that lurks staring at you.
