Design your Dream Closet
Top Reasons to Get your Closet Organized
1. You will reduce stress by knowing where to find what you need.
2. You will save money by clearly knowing what to shop for your wardrobe and what you already have.
3. You will look better. An organized closet means you can create the perfect outfit easily.
Clothing Organization
Eliminate Clothes You Don't WearKeep These Clothes:
- You look and feel amazing in it. (Remember, clothes that fit. Not clothes that fit when you were 20 pounds heavier or lighter.)
Swap with a friend or donate to a charity (ie. Goodwill or The Salvation Army):
- The color/fabric makes you look tired or frumpy. Only wear colors/fabrics that make you feel special.
Toss any garment that is:
- Stained (beyond repair), has holes, or doesn't fit in the first two piles.

Shoe Organization
Arrange Shoes By StyleTake everything out of the shoe area:
- Sort what shoes stay, what shoes you will swap or donate and what shoes go in the garbage.
Organize shoes:
- Last or Top Row: Special Occasion Shoes (what you wore to your wedding or out to the theatre)
- Next Row: Seasonal Shoes (summer flip flops or winter boots - these may be rotated forward when necessary)
- Next Row: Ask yourself what do I wear weekly? (This may be your athletic shoes or sky-high heels)
- First Row: Ask yourself what do I wear everyday? (This may be your go to pumps or comfortable flats)

Purse Organization
Showcase Your Purses - Figure out what purses to keep, swap/donate, and throw away. Once sorted clean out all purses. You never know what you will find ($100 would be nice). Also clean purses. Make sure you use proper leather or suede cleaning products when necessary.
-Put your purses on display. Purses are like artwork so make sure you figure out a great organizer to keep your purses clean and ready to accent your outfit.

Jewelry Organization
Avoid the Web of Jewelry - Organize jewelry for your convenience. You may arrange your jewelry by type. Separate into rings, necklaces, braceletes, and earrings. You may divide into smaller subgroups. For example, you may arrange necklaces by length and rings by metal type. You may also arrange jewelry by use. If you wear your pearls everyday these may go in your small jewelry box while your statement necklaces (you wear on special occasions) will go in your jewelry armoire.
- Jewelry is beautiful so don't keep it hidden. There are a beautiful variety or jewelry boxes and jewelry armoires to display your jewels. Do keep expensive jewelry or family heirlooms in a jewelry safe or safe deposit box.

Accessories Organization
- If you are keeping any items in a box or garment bag for safe keeping label it now. The worst is having a great item hidden. Another alternative is investing in a box so you can easily see and access the special item. Ideal for authentic vintage accessories.
- Expand your closet space. Think about other areas to keep your accessories. There are great under the bed storage kits, chic coat racks to keep hats and scarves, and over the door valets. These options are great for seasonal items, vintage/special care products, or special occasion accessories.
